AI Cloud Engineer (1099-BOP)

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced AI Cloud Engineer (1099‑BOP) to support a federal-facing cloud modernization and AI enablement initiative. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing AI/ML workloads on AWS, including Bedrock, serverless architectures, and secure cloud environments. The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and high‑performance AI solutions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, architecture, or DevOps.
  
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services (EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, etc.).
  
• Experience with AI/ML workloads, including model deployment, optimization, or integration.
  
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, generative AI services, or LLM-based architectures.
  
• Proficiency in Python, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal or regulated environments.
  
• Familiarity with secure cloud architectures and compliance frameworks.
  
• Experience with serverless AI pipelines or distributed systems.
  
• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Machine Learning, DevOps) are a plus.

This is a 1099‑BOP contract role. Compensation is competitive and aligned with experience and technical depth. Contractors maintain flexibility in schedule, remote work, and project-based engagement. Additional benefits are not included under 1099 arrangements.
