PROJECT OVERVIEW

We are looking for an outcomes-driven Agile Delivery Lead to join our Delivery team.

This role combines Agile delivery leadership with a strong technical understanding of software and data projects. You will be responsible for delivery predictability, planning, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement while working closely with technical and product teams.

The ideal candidate has a solid technical background and is comfortable engaging in technical discussions, challenging estimates, identifying dependencies and delivery risks, and translating business priorities into realistic delivery plans.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Delivery Ownership & Timeliness: Take full responsibility for end-to-end delivery results, ensuring all committed scope is delivered on time and to the expected quality. Proactively plan, monitor, and resolve risks before they impact deadlines.

  • Delivery Management: Drive the team towards outcomes with minimal guidance, managing capacity planning and commitments to maintain momentum and uninterrupted execution.

  • Agile Facilitation for Delivery: Lead Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, with a delivery-first mindset focused on actionable planning and execution.

  • Release Planning & Execution: Translate the roadmap into realistic and achievable team delivery plans. Coordinate scope, timelines, and dependencies upfront and manage release execution to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and meet acceptance criteria.

  • Delivery Tracking, Metrics & Accountability: Continuously monitor delivery metrics such as velocity, lead time, cycle time, and due dates to track progress against commitments and enable early corrective action.

  • Cross-Team Delivery Coordination: Ensure smooth handoffs and cooperation between teams to prevent dependency-driven delays. Align expectations with technical, product, and business stakeholders and manage escalations when required.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead retrospectives and process improvements that increase delivery predictability, efficiency, and team autonomy.

Scope of Authority & Decision Rights

  • Propose and lock sprint goals and team commitments together with the PO and Tech Lead.

  • Enforce WIP limits, negotiate capacity, and reject work that is not ready according to the Definition of Ready.

  • Raise and escalate delivery risks and dependencies.

  • Organize unblock sessions and ensure blocked items are escalated within 24 hours.

IF YOU ARE

  • Technical background — prior hands-on experience in software engineering, data engineering, BI development, QA, or a similar technical discipline, with the ability to hold credible technical conversations with engineers and stakeholders.

  • Power BI knowledge — understanding of Power BI report and dataset lifecycle, deployment, and CI/CD.

  • Practical AI tools experience and familiarity with using AI to support productivity and delivery.

  • 6+ years of experience leading Agile delivery in software or data teams, including sprint planning, capacity management, release coordination, and delivery tracking.

  • Strong understanding of delivery metrics, including velocity, lead time, cycle time, forecasting, and delivery predictability.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar work-management tools.

  • Excellent written and spoken English, with confidence communicating with technical teams, stakeholders, and senior management.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with Azure Databricks or similar data-pipeline platforms.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and Data Warehouse concepts, including fact/dimension modelling, views, data quality, and load performance.

  • Experience managing delivery against SLAs and producing Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).

  • Familiarity with ticketing and support workflows feeding into delivery backlogs.

  • Experience working with distributed or cross-functional technical teams.

  • Experience managing complex technical dependencies across multiple teams.
