Seeking an Affiliate & Creator Partnerships Manager to build, own, and scale our creator-driven growth engine — a tiered affiliate program designed to reach audiences we don't reach today and convert the ones we already have.
This is a build role, not a maintenance role.
You'll stand up a program that runs on two engines at once: an awareness tier that puts the company in front of net-new audiences — live-events, concert and festival goers, everyday-carry culture — through platform-native creator content, measured on reach and earned media rather than last-click sales; and a conversion tier that turns already-warmed audiences into customers through trackable links and codes with real ROAS accountability. Your job is to know which lever to pull, when, and against whom — and to keep the two from cannibalizing each other.
You'll live in the space between brand and performance. Part talent scout, part operator, part analyst, you'll recruit and activate the right creators, run the program end to end in GRIN, keep it clean and compliant, and prove its value with the honest metric for each tier — not a borrowed one. You'll work closely with leadership, brand, product, and paid teams to make sure creator activity ladders up to where the company is going, season by season and launch by launch.
This channel isn't about chasing virality. It's about earning genuine word of mouth from people worth listening to, and doing it in a way that holds up to scrutiny — because a brand built on “Notice More” can't afford a manufactured groundswell. This role makes that authenticity scalable.
What You'll Do
Program Strategy & Tier Architecture
- Design and own Nocs' tiered affiliate program: an awareness/discovery tier for reaching net-new audiences and a conversion tier for monetizing warmed ones — each with its own creators, goals, incentives, and success metrics.
- Define the graduation logic between tiers: the specific signals (e.g., branded-search lift and direct/organic traffic in target metros) that indicate an audience has been “captured” and is ready for conversion-focused activation.
- Protect the awareness tier from last-click comparison so it isn't defunded for sales the conversion tier gets credited for — and defend its budget on its own proxies.
- Match tier and channel to audience and price point rather than running the same playbook everywhere (e.g., recognizing where impulse-commerce formats fit our SKUs and where they don't).
Creator Recruitment, Tiering & Activation
- Source, vet, and activate creators across tiers — from high-reach personalities to hyper-authentic, on-the-ground niche voices — prioritizing genuine fit over follower count.
- Rent platform fluency we don't have in-house: recruit creators who are already native to the platform and audience, rather than asking them to re-post repurposed brand content.
- Build briefs that give creators creative latitude while protecting brand voice, and manage seeding of product as top-of-funnel fuel.
- Develop the incentive and payout structure per tier — flat/gifted for awareness, commission-based for conversion — and evolve it as the program matures.
Platform & Program Operations
- Own GRIN end to end: creator discovery, onboarding, gifting workflows, content approvals, link/code generation, payouts, and reporting.
- Run the program across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, adapting structure and expectations to each platform's mechanics and the current state of its algorithm.
- Own the e-commerce and analytics integrations (Shopify, UTMs, GA4) that make conversion-tier attribution real.
- Keep the roster healthy: track active-vs-signed creators, prune under performers, and reallocate spend toward what's working.
Compliance & Brand Integrity
- Own FTC disclosure and endorsement compliance across every creator relationship — material connections are disclosed, always, regardless of tier. This is non-negotiable and sits with this role.
- Vet creators and audiences for authenticity and fraud; supplement platform data with independent checks on high-value partnerships.
- Ensure every activation reflects Nocs' voice and values, and would survive being screens hotted — no manufactured or undisclosed hype.
Measurement, Attribution & Optimization
- Measure each tier on the metric that actually fits it: awareness on non-follower reach, share rate, earned media value, and branded-search/geo lift; conversion on trackable revenue, CAC, ROAS, and return-adjusted contribution.
- Watch the economics honestly — track earnings and return-adjusted profitability over raw units or impressions, and flag when a channel's all-in take rate (fees + commissions + amplification) outruns its margin.
- Run continuous experimentation: test creators, formats, offers, and metros; isolate investments (e.g., a specific platform or audience) so results can be read cleanly.
- Build dashboards and reporting that let leadership see the program's contribution without a manual export marathon.
Go-To-Market Alignment
- Partner with leadership, brand, product, and paid teams to align creator activity with launches, collaborations, and seasonal priorities.
- Coordinate with the paid and owned channels so creator moments are amplified in sync rather than in isolation.
- Translate company and departmental goals into a creator program roadmap — what to projectify now, and the bigger bets to build toward.
Requirements
- 3 - 5 years in affiliate, influencer, creator, or partnerships marketing, with a track record of building or meaningfully scaling a creator-driven channel — not just executing one-off collaborations.
- Hands-on experience with a creator/affiliate platform (GRIN strongly preferred; Upfluence, Aspire, or similar acceptable), including gifting workflows, link/code attribution, and payouts.
- Fluent in how Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube actually distribute content today — and able to adapt strategy per platform rather than porting one playbook across all three.
- Comfortable with performance metrics (ROAS, CAC, EMV, engagement rate, share rate, conversion rate) and, more importantly, able to choose the right metric for the goal and defend it to a performance-minded team.
- Working knowledge of FTC endorsement and disclosure requirements and how to operationalize them at scale.
- Confident brief-writer and communicator with a brand-voice mindset — able to direct creators without flattening their voice.
- Highly organized self-starter who can juggle a large roster, multiple launches, and competing deadlines without dropping the compliance ball.
- Bonus: experience with a considered-purchase or premium product (where impulse-commerce tactics don't automatically apply), and comfort operating in a lean startup where you build the plumbing yourself.
- Passionate about storytelling, brand-building, and community — and excited to work for a brand rooted in the outdoors, design, and sustainability.
- Stoked to go birding!
