The Adjunct Instructor – U.S. and Nevada Constitution is responsible for delivering high-quality synchronous online instruction to college-level students. This includes helping students understand the foundational principles, structure, and function of the United States Constitution and the Nevada Constitution, as well as the rights and responsibilities of individuals within a democratic society.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Deliver live, scheduled online class sessions and actively teach during all assigned meeting times
  • Develop and deliver lectures, discussions, and learning activities focused on the principles, structure, and function of the United States Constitution and the Nevada Constitution
  • Teach foundational constitutional concepts, including federalism, separation of powers, checks and balances, individual rights, and the role of government at both the federal and state levels
  • Explain the historical context and development of constitutional law, including key amendments, landmark Supreme Court decisions, and significant Nevada constitutional provisions

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in political science, history, government, or a closely related field required; individuals with a master’s degree in another discipline may be considered with evidence of at least 15 graduate semester credits in political science, government, constitutional law, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level preferred
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies for diverse learners
  • Experience with online learning management systems/platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and instructional technology is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
