The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Albright College invites applications for Adjunct Faculty/Course Facilitators to teach graduate-level courses in Special Education in a 7.5-week, fully online asynchronous format. Appointments may be made as Adjunct Faculty or Course Facilitators based on course needs and the instructional model. SPS serves adult learners through flexible, career-relevant programs designed to support academic and professional success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging graduate-level Special Education courses in an asynchronous online environment using a course blueprint model
  • Provide timely, substantive feedback on student work
  • Connect course concepts to current practices and challenges in K-12 special education settings
  • Support critical thinking, applied learning, and professional skill development
  • Maintain an active and consistent instructional presence
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for adult learners

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Special Education teacher, preferably in Pennsylvania
  • Master’s degree in Education or a closely related field required; earned doctorate preferred
  • Experience teaching special education in K-12 school settings
  • Experience teaching in online, accelerated, asynchronous formats preferred
    • Familiarity with D2L Brightspace is preferred
  • Comfort using experiential and applied learning strategies within a pre-designed course
  • Strong communication, feedback, and student engagement skills
