This is a Remote Position

Primary Duties:

  1. Generate, record and process invoices.

  2. Process funding entries for award closeouts.

  3. Under direction of manager, identify sponsored projects that require initial reports of expenditures.

  4. Complete and distribute initial reports of expenditures in compliance with terms and conditions stated in award documents and ensure deadlines are met.

  5. Make outbound communications with departments and outside customers in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations.

  6. Review and monitor assigned workflows.

  7. Compile data and prepare daily and monthly activity reports for management.

  8. Assist with the preparation of ad hoc reports.

  9. Other billing duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of nine (9) credits in accounting.

Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience, and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.  Entry level to mid-level accounting knowledge of grants and contracts preferred.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Working knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to apply basic analytical skills; to operate manual and automated office equipment, personal computers, and financial software to input data; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to prepare and present working papers and supporting documentation.

Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit (Union). 

Hiring Range: $52,682.92 to $60,487.80 ($54,000.00 - $62,000.00 post probation)
