Accountant

The Role

As an Accountant at JoVE, you will take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. In this role, you will be the backbone of our billing and revenue cycle managing accounts receivable, tracking customer revenue, calculating sales commissions, and supporting month end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and send customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Manage accounts receivable and respond to customer billing inquiries.
• Handle daily bookkeeping, reconciliations, and accounting tasks.
• Calculate sales commissions and maintain accurate commission records.
• Track, calculate, and reconcile customer revenue.
• Prepare and send customer license agreements and follow up on signatures.
• Maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Assist with month-end closing and other accounting-related activities.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field.
• 3 to 5 years of previous experience in accounting, invoicing, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and complex formulas.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
• Experience with revenue and commission calculations is preferred.
