The System Safety Engineer develops and coordinates multiple activities of the system safety process for various Merlin products, employing safety analysis techniques aligned with SAE ARP4761 and MIL-STD-882. This role involves analyzing safety-critical systems, flowing down safety requirements to development teams, and preparing/delivering analyses for safety review meetings.

Design, build, and integrate airborne perception capabilities for autonomous flight, working closely with the R&D software engineering manager to align with team objectives and the technology roadmap. Drive sensor, integration, and algorithm approaches for perception subsystems while establishing infrastructure for testing traditional and machine learning-based algorithms.

The Senior Software Engineer will design, implement, test, and certify flight-critical autonomy algorithms for aerospace systems. Responsibilities include developing flight software using MathWorks tools and ensuring compliance with DO-178C standards.
