Job Description:

The Localization Group is responsible for the multilingual production of Rakuten Travel's global services. We ensure that localized versions are clear, natural, and optimized for each target audience.


As the Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) Language Leader, you will be responsible for translating, proofreading, and improving the quality of localized content. You will ensure our products are commercially ready, accurate, and appealing to the target audience in Hong Kong. You will follow established guidelines and work collaboratively with the Localization Group and its stakeholders to
ensure timely delivery of high-quality localized content.

Responsibilities:

  • Translating from English into Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) for website copy, marketing materials, and other content.

  • Proofreading and edit Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) content drafted by vendors and stakeholders.

  • Maintaining and improve the quality of the Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) version of our content, including website checks and maintaining language-specific resources like glossaries and style guides.

  • Creating language initiatives to standardize and improve translations.

  • Providing feedback to vendors to ensure consistent quality and adherence to guidelines.

  • Assisting with localization projects in cooperation with other departments.

  • Communicating with relevant teams to ensure compliance with linguistic and cultural standards.

Requirements:

  • Native-level fluency in Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong)

  • Full Professional Proficiency in English

  • Minimum 3 years of full-time experience in localization, translation, or a related field

  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role and/or leading initiatives

  • Strong computer skills, including CAT tool use

  • Bachelor’s Degree
