We are looking for a hands-on Technical Product Owner / Business Analyst to join our in-house Platform Team and take ownership of the day-to-day backlog and delivery flow.

In this role, you will work closely with Product Managers, domain owners and the development team to turn business needs into clear, structured and buildable features. You will make sure that every request entering the backlog is properly understood, documented and ready for development — with clear requirements, acceptance criteria and expected outcomes.

You will report to the Platform Lead, who is responsible for the overall platform direction and priorities. Your responsibility is to make those priorities actionable: keep the backlog healthy, ensure the development team always has well-prepared work, support the team throughout development and validate that the delivered solution matches the agreed requirements.

This is a hands-on execution role with a strong focus on requirements, documentation, backlog management and delivery quality. You will not be responsible for setting the overall product strategy — your focus is making sure that the agreed priorities are translated into high-quality work and delivered as expected.

What you'll do

Own and maintain the backlog — keep it ordered, refined, and always ready with buildable work ahead of the team. Break big requests into deliverable pieces.

Talk to stakeholders — gather requirements from product managers and domain owners (VIP, Payments, Casino, Sportsbook, etc.), ask the right questions, challenge vague asks, and clarify what's actually needed before it becomes a ticket. Keep them informed on status.

Describe features properly — write clear, complete specifications and user stories with unambiguous acceptance criteria. Your writing is what the dev team builds from, so it has to be precise and leave no room for guessing.

Document features — keep feature documentation accurate and up to date so the product org, support, and engineers can rely on it. Documentation is part of "done," not an afterthought.

Run refinement with the dev team — lead refinement sessions, walk the team through requirements, answer questions during development, and unblock quickly when something's unclear.

Validate implementation — test and review delivered work against the acceptance criteria before it's accepted. Catch gaps and mismatches before they reach production, and work with QA on what needs deeper testing.

Keep the flow honest — flag risks, dependencies, and scope changes early to the Platform Lead rather than letting them surface late.

What you're accountable for

Backlog readiness — the dev team always has clear, refined work ahead of them.

Story quality — low rework, few tickets bounced back for missing detail or unclear criteria.

Documentation completeness — features are documented before release.

Validated delivery — what ships matches what was specified.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar role working directly with software development teams.
  • Strong experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Excellent requirements-gathering and analytical skills — you can turn a business request into a clear, buildable solution.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience creating detailed specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Good technical understanding and the ability to communicate comfortably with developers, understand system dependencies, limitations and integrations.
  • A hands-on approach to validation — you are comfortable checking delivered functionality yourself rather than relying solely on a "Done" status.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to managing information and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence or similar tools.
  • Experience in iGaming / online casino is required.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with VIP, CRM, bonuses, gamification or experimentation platforms.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups competing for the same development capacity.
  • Experience working with in-house platforms or internal product teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain the platform backlog — keep it structured, prioritised and continuously ready for development.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and domain owners across VIP, Payments, Casino, Sportsbook, CRM and other product areas to understand their needs.
  • Challenge vague or incomplete requests, ask the right questions and identify the actual business requirement behind the initial ask.
  • Break larger initiatives into clear, manageable and deliverable features.
  • Write detailed user stories, functional requirements and acceptance criteria that developers can work from without ambiguity.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product and feature documentation in Confluence or equivalent tools.
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions with the development team and ensure everyone has a shared understanding of the requirements.
  • Stay involved during development, answer questions, clarify requirements and quickly resolve ambiguity or blockers.
  • Review and validate delivered features against acceptance criteria before they are considered done.
  • Work closely with QA where deeper testing or additional scenarios are required.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, scope changes and gaps early and communicate them to the Platform Lead.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about progress, status and potential issues related to their requests.

What success looks like:

In your first 3 months, you will have full ownership of the day-to-day platform backlog. The development team will consistently have clear, refined and buildable work ahead of them, while stakeholders will receive clear answers on their requests and status.

The Platform Lead will be able to rely on you to manage the backlog and execution flow independently, identify issues early and ensure that what reaches production is aligned with what was actually requested.
