Job DetailsJob Location: Remote- US - Little Rock, AR 722017220Position Type: Full TimeThe SQL Engineer – Level 3 is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL-based data solutions. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, serves as a subject matter expert in database and query performance, and influences data standards, architecture decisions, and best practices across teams.
Essential Functions
· Design, develop, and maintain advanced SQL queries, views, functions, and stored procedures supporting mission-critical systems
· Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances
· Optimize database and query performance through indexing, execution plan analysis, and schema improvements
· Lead complex data modeling and transformation efforts for transactional and analytical use cases
· Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across databases and data pipelines
· Partner with engineering, ETL, BI, and product teams to define scalable data solutions
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex data quality, performance, and reliability issues
· Establish and promote SQL development standards, best practices, and documentation
· Contribute to architecture reviews and long-term data platform strategy
· Support data governance, security, and compliance requirements, including those applicable to regulated environmentsQualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Expert-level proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning
· Deep understanding of relational database design, normalization, indexing, and query optimization
· Experience with Microsoft Azure
· Strong experience working with large datasets and complex schemas
· Ability to design scalable, high-performance data solutions
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to influence technical standards and mentor peers
· Effective communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
· Significant experience in SQL engineering, data engineering, or database development
· Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex technical work
