About the Role
As a Software Engineer-Test Automation at Aspire, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our backend services through robust test automation. This position requires 80-90% overlap with EST hours and is preferred for candidates based in the APAC region. You will focus on building and maintaining automated test frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright, while also contributing to production backend code in Java or Kotlin. This role demands a strong commitment to test automation, CI/CD integration, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
What You'll Do
Design, implement, and manage automated test frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright.
Write functional, integration, and API test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Develop and maintain backend services using Java or Kotlin.
Debug, troubleshoot, and perform root-cause analysis for identified issues.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for seamless execution.
Contribute independently to production code, not only test code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
What You'll Need
Strong professional backend engineering experience.
Strong test engineering and automation experience.
Hands-on experience developing backend services using Java or Kotlin.
Advanced TypeScript skills.
Hands-on Playwright experience, including creating and maintaining test frameworks.
Experience writing functional, integration, and API tests.
Ability to write clear, comprehensive, and maintainable test cases.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
Awareness or knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by ISO / SOC or similar standards.
Ability to contribute independently to production code, not only test code.

(Nice-to-have) Experience with performance, reliability, accessibility, or contract testing.
