Service Designer

First, who are we?

We're Cielo Costa, a boutique technology consultancy: 30 people working fully-remotely across the UK, Pakistan, India, Tunisia, and the Philippines. We call ourselves Coasties 🌊, and we're marathon runners, parents, triathletes, gamers, musicians, photographers, and travel enthusiasts outside of work. We care about our work and each other in equal measure: excellence in delivery is non-negotiable, but so is being human.

Our reason for existing is simple: elevate human experience. That's why we're hiring our first Service Designer, to lead how we untangle client problems and design experiences that create lasting impact.

The Role

Reporting to Gareth Fryer - Director- Product & Consulting. Gareth is leading all things product and experiences at Cielo Costa. You'll work with as much autonomy as you can handle. 🚀

This role is a mid-level position. Enough experience to know what good looks like, ideally from product, consulting or agency. Hungry to grow.

What you'll do

• Run discovery and co-design sessions that untangle client problems and bring real clarity

• Work across clients, including healthcare, where the outcome isn't a nicer process on paper. It's a better experience for people delivering frontline care

• Partner with our Director of Product & Consulting to shape how service design works here

What you'll own

• Building service design as a way of working at Cielo Costa. You're the first hire in this role

• The quality and impact of the work you lead, start to finish

Skills, traits and experience

✓ Clear thinker, warm heart 🧠 + ❤️
✓ Experience as a Service or Product Designer in an agency or startup
✓ Pragmatist. Biased towards action over endless research loops, without losing sight of business goals
✓ Relationship builder. Trust, reliability, warmth with clients
✓ Big-picture thinker. Sees the whole ecosystem, spots downstream effects
✓ Builder's instinct. Drawn to shaping something new, learns on the fly
✓ French speaking 🇫🇷 (bonus, not essential)

💴 Salary: Up to £60K base + benefits

🔖 Contract type: Open to contractor or employment

🏚️ Fully-remote - no offices at all.
