Who we are looking for:
ASCO is in search of a high-performing Senior Product Owner, Oracle Financial Cloud & Related Products to lead product definition and development for a dedicated squad, acting as the customer advocate for the organization’s core financial integrity and compliance systems. This role defines priorities (Epics, Features, and Stories), manages the backlog, and ensures streamlined execution, primarily supporting Finance, Accounting, Grants Management, and Procurement functions.
The Senior Product Owner serves as an expertise in non-profit fund accounting, Oracle Cloud ERP (Financials, PGM, Procurement), and active collaboration with the Portfolio Lead and stakeholders to deliver maximum fiduciary value and maintain strict regulatory compliance through Scaled Agile methodologies.
Remote candidates welcome or at primary location in Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities
Product Management
- Act as the voice of the customer to strategically prioritize product backlog epics, features, and stories across core financial streams, including Accounting, Grants & Project Management (PGM), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Financial Close, and Budgeting & Planning.
- In partnership with the Business Analysts, draft concise epics, features, and stories. Ensure all required metadata is captured to enable an accurate product roadmap and reporting.
- Draft well defined user stories and work with the engineering team to create acceptance criteria, definitions of done and failures.
- Work with the Portfolio Leader, Product Manager, and finance stakeholders to establish feedback loops with the customer to measure and track the value delivered, specifically focusing on ROI, audit readiness, and reporting accuracy.
- Contribute to the portfolio-level product roadmap by drafting Idea’s in the lean business case format in the Jira Product Discovery board for roadmap consideration based on customer insights.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Oracle and third-party vendors for issue resolution and optimization of the ERP platform.
Delivery Planning and Deployment
- Manage the continuous Oracle Cloud COTS lifecycle, including defining mandatory quarterly upgrade testing and validation stories to ensure non-profit specific configurations and compliance reports remain intact.
- Partner with the Portfolio Leader, Product Manager, business stakeholders, and squad to prepare for the quarterly planning events as well as enterprise-level retrospective ceremonies.
- Actively participate in delivery squad ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective), and portfolio-level events (quarterly planning, enterprise-level retrospective and innovation ceremonies, system demos).
- Define, validate and support user acceptance testing for configuration changes and new module rollouts (e.g., Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets).
- Contribute to release planning, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure successful product launches and iterations, including ensuring seamless integration with the organization’s contract management solution.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to meet results
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field or comparable years of proven practical experience supporting Oracle Cloud ERP or similar tier-one financial COTS solutions
- 7 – 8+ years of progressive professional experience in financial systems management, ERP product ownership, or business architecture.
- 4+ years of direct, hands-on experience leading the implementation, optimization, configuration, and support of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP modules (specifically General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Procurement, or PGM modules).
- 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional global delivery teams, managing product backlogs, and facilitating squad ceremonies in Agile ways of working (SAFe, Scrum, DAD, project management, or process improvement).
- Hands-on proficiency utilizing product management tools (such as Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and Confluence) to maintain backlog data integrity, metadata tagging, and real-time roadmap reporting.
- Strong ability to articulate technical and financial concepts or plans, and facilitate working sessions with cross-functional teams and high-level stakeholders.
- Strong ability to articulate complex financial/technical concepts and facilitate working sessions with cross-functional teams and high-level stakeholders.
- Proven experience building strategic relationships with external software vendors (like Oracle) for issue resolution, platform optimization, and facilitating alignment across Finance, Accounting, and Procurement.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Demonstrated experience with EPM data integration, specifically bridging the gap between sub-ledger accounting, ERP financial data, and downstream budgeting and planning modules
- SAFe product owner certification or PO certification from a recognized organization such as Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org is a plus
- Deep functional understanding of non-profit accounting principles, grant compliance, and fund accounting.
- Familiarity with other methodologies such as Kanban or Lean.
- Experience with SAAS, PAAS, mobile apps, back-office systems, hardware, and services and various product categories a plus.
- Experience building custom financial reports and data extracts (e.g., using Oracle OTBI/BIP).

Compensation
This is an exempt position. The hiring salary range for this position is 142,500-165,000.
The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum annualized salary ASCO expects to provide for a new hire for the position across the U.S. We thoughtfully determine and design offers based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
