Senior Platform Engineer

Behind every bunny.net product is a platform running across thousands of servers in 120+ locations. As we grow, we're building the shared infrastructure and tools that help our teams deploy and operate at that scale.

That's where you come in.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll work across bare metal, Linux, and Kubernetes to build the platform capabilities our teams rely on every day.

Our Platform team is still small, so you'll be close to the problems, the people using what you build, and the decisions behind it. Working closely with Infrastructure and engineering teams across bunny.net, you'll turn recurring challenges into shared platform capabilities.

No YAML for YAML's sake. We're looking for someone who sees a messy infrastructure problem and thinks about how to make it simpler for everyone.

What will you do?

• Design and build self-service platform capabilities for our engineering teams

• Shape how we deploy workloads, from GitOps to Kubernetes

• Improve our global hybrid infrastructure, from bare metal to containers

• Automate toil and turn repeated problems into reusable solutions

• Design for scale, resilience, and failure

• Make our systems easier to understand through meaningful observability

• Work with teams to find friction and remove it

• Own what you build as part of our follow-the-sun on-call rotation
  

What will you bring?

• Strong experience with large-scale, multi-region Linux infrastructure

• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production

• Experience building platforms, tooling, or workflows for other engineers

• A strong grasp of distributed systems and infrastructure fundamentals like DNS, HTTP, TLS, and containers

• Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD experience

• Experience owning production observability, from metrics and logs to alerts and runbooks

• The ability to build useful tools (we mostly use Go, Python, and Bash)

• Experience operating production databases such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Redis, ClickHouse, or Elasticsearch

• Comfort working across teams, time zones, and imperfect information

• You've taken platform or infrastructure projects from idea to production

• You've worked with globally distributed infrastructure or products

• You know when to choose bare metal, Kubernetes, or managed services

• You think in observability, not just monitoring

• You've worked with Argo CD, Flux, or similar tools

• OIDC, SAML, and SSO aren't alphabet soup to you

• You've turned security or compliance requirements into better engineering

Europe, ideally within CET ±3 hours so collaboration with the team feels natural rather than scheduled.
