Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to provide IT leadership and coordination across a portfolio of business application initiatives supporting a large acquisition carve-out.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience leading complex IT projects involving enterprise applications, technology transitions, implementations, migrations, or organizational change. Experience supporting Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, or application separation/integration is highly preferred.

This role will work across business and IT teams to establish project plans, drive milestones, manage risks and dependencies, coordinate stakeholders, identify gaps, and ensure applications are ready for transition and operational support. The successful candidate should be comfortable operating at both the project/portfolio level and the detailed application level, working independently to identify issues and drive actions through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate complex IT projects and application transition initiatives across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Serve as the primary IT point of accountability for assigned applications and projects.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and action items.
  • Partner with business leaders, application owners, IT teams, vendors, and third-party consultants to drive successful project execution.
  • Assess application readiness and identify gaps across requirements, infrastructure, security, integrations, testing, cutover, documentation, and operational support.
  • Coordinate IT activities for business-led initiatives and ensure appropriate ownership and accountability.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and unresolved issues and proactively drive them toward resolution.
  • Provide portfolio-level visibility and concise status reporting to leadership.
  • Facilitate meetings, drive decisions, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up across stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs and requirements into actionable project plans and technology activities.
  • Dive into application-level details when necessary to understand dependencies, integrations, data, processes, and support requirements.
  • Coordinate application transition, implementation, migration, separation, or integration activities as required.
  • Support vendor and third-party engagement, including solution discussions, SOW development, and coordination with procurement when applicable.

M&A / Acquisition Responsibilities

  • Support IT activities related to M&A, acquisition, divestiture, and carve-out initiatives.
  • Coordinate application transition or separation activities resulting from acquisitions or organizational changes.
  • Identify application ownership, dependencies, integrations, data requirements, infrastructure needs, and operational impacts.
  • Track transition milestones, risks, decisions, and dependencies across business and IT teams.
  • Help ensure applications are appropriately transitioned, documented, supported, and operationally ready.

Knowledge Transfer & Data Coordination

  • Coordinate Knowledge Transfer (KT) activities between business stakeholders, IT teams, application owners, and external parties.
  • Facilitate discovery discussions to understand application usage, business processes, users, data, integrations, dependencies, and support models.
  • Identify knowledge and documentation gaps and coordinate appropriate KT sessions.
  • Coordinate and track Data Requests from business and IT stakeholders.
  • Ensure requests are clearly defined, submitted through established processes, and tracked through completion.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding actions, questions, dependencies, and approvals.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager, IT Program Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar role.
  • Proven experience leading or coordinating complex enterprise IT projects and application initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, risk management, dependency management, issue resolution, and status reporting.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, applications, or workstreams.
  • Strong ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with enterprise application implementations, transitions, migrations, integrations, or operational readiness.
  • Ability to work independently, identify gaps, drive accountability, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Strong understanding of the IT application lifecycle and transition process.
  • Strong M&A experience, particularly supporting acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, or application separation/integration.
  • Experience with enterprise application transition or separation during an acquisition.
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Pharma, Healthcare, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, consultants, SOWs, and procurement activities.
  • Experience with Knowledge Transfer and Data Request coordination.
  • Background in application delivery, business systems analysis, technology transformation, or application management.
