Senior Bookkeeper

What You'll Do

• Take full ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks
• Bring our books up to date and maintain accurate financial records going forward
• Manage bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile credit card and other financial accounts
• Reconcile transactions and identify discrepancies
• Work extensively with Shopify and ensure Shopify transactions are properly reflected in the books
• Assist with inventory-related bookkeeping and reconciliation
• Monitor financial records and ensure transactions are properly categorized
• Assist with sales tax calculations, filings, and remittance where applicable
• Help prepare accurate financial information ahead of tax deadlines
• Identify bookkeeping issues proactively and recommend solutions
• Maintain organized documentation and financial records
• Work independently and investigate questions/issues before escalating them
• Communicate financial information clearly and flag anything that requires attention

What We're Looking For

Exceptional Communication

You must have excellent written and spoken English and be highly responsive. If we ask a question, we need someone who can respond quickly and clearly.

We're looking for someone who:

• Can explain accounting/bookkeeping concepts in straightforward English
• Doesn't disappear when something is unclear
• Is comfortable asking thoughtful questions when needed

Strong Technical Skills

You should be highly proficient with:

• QuickBooks Online
• Shopify
• Bookkeeping and account reconciliation
• Credit card reconciliation
• Inventory accounting/bookkeeping
• Sales tax processes
• General accounting principles

Shopify experience is particularly important because it is our primary e-commerce platform.

Independent & Proactive

You should be comfortable taking ownership of the books without constant supervision.

Reliable & Dedicated

We're looking for someone who is dependable and takes their work seriously.

This is not a role for someone trying to juggle multiple full-time jobs or commitments. We need someone who can consistently dedicate their attention to Apex Fitness during their agreed working hours and stay on top of deadlines.

Reliability, work ethic, and consistency are extremely important to us.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Proven experience managing books for a US or other Western company
• Strong experience with QuickBooks online
• Strong Shopify bookkeeping experience (Tools like Link My Books)
• Experience with reconciliations and transaction categorization
• Experience with inventory-related bookkeeping
• Experience with US sales tax is a strong plus
• Accounting/bookkeeping credentials or certifications are a plus
• Excellent English communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Proven track record of reliability and ownership

Working Hours

Philippine Time (PHT), daytime hours. 

Benefits

• Client Relationship: You will be directly working with the client. This means that you will communicate with the client, provide services, and address any client-related matters independently.
• Payments: All payments for your services will be handled by the client. Elevate and Delegate is not involved in processing your payroll. Your salary will directly go to you. 
• Vacation Leaves and Holidays: While we may have recommendations or guidelines regarding vacation leaves and holidays, the decision is entirely at the discretion of the client. You are expected to align your schedule with the client’s business needs and any specific policies or preferences they may have in this regard.
