Position Summary:

The SAP EWM Architect provides technical leadership and architectural direction for SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) solutions across embedded and decentralized SAP S/4HANA environments. This role designs end-to-end warehouse management architectures, sets EWM design standards and integration patterns, and leads solution delivery across client engagements, translating complex logistics and supply chain requirements into scalable, compliant SAP solutions. The Architect serves as a trusted technical advisor to clients and internal delivery teams and mentors SAP EWM consultants across the practice.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Designs end-to-end SAP EWM solution architectures, embedded and decentralized, aligned to client business requirements and SAP best practices.

  • Leads full life-cycle SAP EWM implementation, upgrade, and migration workstreams, including requirements gathering, blueprinting, configuration, and testing.

  • Defines and enforces architectural standards, design patterns, and integration guidelines across SAP EWM engagements.

  • Analyzes complex warehouse, logistics, and supply chain processes to design innovative, scalable EWM solutions.

  • Designs and configures core EWM processes, including warehouse structure, resource and labor management, inbound and outbound processing, wave management, cross-docking, and physical inventory.

  • Oversees integration between SAP EWM and adjacent S/4HANA modules and external systems, including transportation management, production planning, quality management, and warehouse automation/material flow systems.

  • Serves as the technical authority and escalation point for complex EWM design, configuration, and performance issues.

  • Leads workshops, design sessions, and training for client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.

  • Mentors and provides technical guidance to SAP EWM consultants and junior architects.

  • Partners with delivery and account leadership to scope engagements, estimate effort, and shape SAP EWM solution proposals.

  • Monitors the SAP EWM and S/4HANA roadmap and emerging warehouse automation trends to inform architectural direction and client recommendations.

  • Travels to client sites to provide on site support through implementations, go-lives, and hypercare as needed (up to 50% travel).

  • Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 8-10 years of progressive SAP experience, including significant experience designing and leading SAP EWM solution architecture (embedded and/or decentralized) across full life-cycle implementations (with a degree); no degree with 10-13 years of experience.

  • Strong functional and technical knowledge of core EWM processes, including warehouse structure, master data, labor management, inbound/outbound processing, wave management, cross-docking, physical inventory, and exception handling.

  • Demonstrated experience integrating SAP EWM with S/4HANA logistics execution, transportation management, production planning, and/or quality management.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with a proven track record of successful solution delivery.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).

 

Nice to Have:

  • SAP Certified Application Associate – Extended Warehouse Management with SAP S/4HANA (C_S4EWM) certification.

  • Experience with warehouse automation, robotics, or material flow system (MFS) integration.

  • Experience supporting federal or public sector supply chain and logistics environments.

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

 

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $140,000 – $160,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
