Remote Roof & Floor Truss Designer - TrueBuild

We are seeking an experienced Roof & Floor Truss Designer to support the design and production of wood truss systems for residential, multifamily, and commercial projects across the United States.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience using TrueBuild by Eagle Metal and a strong understanding of U.S. wood-frame construction, truss engineering workflows, and component manufacturing. This role will be responsible for reviewing architectural and structural drawings and converting them into accurate placement plans, truss layouts, and individual truss profiles ready for engineering review, sealing, and production.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and structural plans for U.S.-based projects.
• Develop roof and floor truss placement plans.
• Create individual truss profiles and production-ready design packages.
• Design and optimize wood trusses using TrueBuild by Eagle Metal.
• Apply project-specific loads, spans, bearing conditions, and structural requirements.
• Coordinate truss layouts with walls, beams, mechanical openings, and other building components.
• Identify conflicts, missing information, and constructability concerns.
• Prepare designs for engineering review, sealing, and fabrication.
• Revise truss packages based on engineer, client, or production feedback.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable U.S. building codes and industry standards.
• Communicate clearly with project managers, engineers, estimators, and production teams.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience designing roof and floor truss systems.
• Hands-on experience with TrueBuild by Eagle Metal (mandatory)
• Experience working on projects for the U.S. market.
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural construction documents.
• Experience preparing truss layouts, placement plans, and individual truss profiles.
• Strong knowledge of wood-frame construction and truss component manufacturing.
• Familiarity with U.S. building codes and truss design standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify design conflicts.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple active projects.
• Professional English communication skills.
• Availability to collaborate during U.S. business hours.

Software

• TrueBuild by Eagle Metal – Required
• AutoCAD – Preferred
• MiTek, Alpine IntelliVIEW, or similar truss-design software – Preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with residential, multifamily, or light commercial projects.
• Familiarity with MiTek, Alpine IntelliVIEW, or other truss-design platforms.
• Knowledge of ANSI/TPI 1, IRC, and IBC requirements.
• Experience coordinating directly with U.S. engineers, builders, architects, or component manufacturers.
• Previous remote experience with a U.S.-based company.
