This includes having an advanced knowledge of the individualized Technology Support Plan and ISP of each person that is receiving remote supports, understanding the philosophy behind Remote Supports and the use of Enabling Technology to achieve self-directed lives, and having the ability to quickly assess a situation and determine the appropriate response measure. Must have good communication and team-working abilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned: Major Duties Perform all the duties of a Direct Support Professional Provide remote assistance across multiple locations to persons living independently Multi-task to ensure DSP duties are performed adequately while also providing quality oversight and remote support to persons receiving Enabling Technology Support Observe alerts and exterior cameras at multiple locations to ensure the safety and well-being of persons supported while also fostering privacy, independence, and dignity. Support people to live a self-directed life Communicate closely with Night Monitor, Program Coordinator, and Program Director about individual’s needs, concerns, and technology issues as they occur. Function as an active member of the Enabling Technology team and the Circle of Support. Engage in group decision making, keep team members informed, be involved in open sharing of ideas and collaboration. Support team decisions and St. John’s Community Services mission. Communicate with staff remotely at shift changes Responsible for documentation related to Remote Support as it occurs. Assess a variety of situations and be able to respond appropriately, determining the most appropriate course of action Utilize person-centered philosophies Responsible for implementation of the Individual Support Plan. Maintain relationship with the persons being supported Other Performance Responsibilities: Strong interpersonal and team-working abilities. Plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion. Demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time and utilizing effective time management skills. Demonstrate and promote a team orientated approach. Represent the organization professionally at all times. Handling and Moving Objects, using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Performing General Physical Activities. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Written Comprehension – The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing Written Expression – The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand   Qualifications  High School diploma or G.E.D. required; AA/BA/BS Degree in a related field preferred; Two or more years related experience working with persons with disabilities required; experience in a competitive/supported employment setting preferred Must meet SJCS and funding jurisdiction current requirements for criminal background/records check; Valid health certificate to meet current funding jurisdiction requirements; Valid state-issued driver’s license with current driving record in good standing required.
