We're on a mission to be a Force For Good, through our People, Products and Purpose at Nuix. Nuix is one of the greatest comeback Technology success stories in Australia, and we're making massive waves each day. Nuix is, and will be, a pioneer in the Australian Technology space, and we're carrying the torch on what "good" looks like.
This extends to our People. We're fiercely passionate, love working at pace, thrive in ambiguity, live, and breathe outside of the box, and above all are good humans. Our impact extends outside of our 9-5, and our place in society isn't always defined by corporate metrics. We're determined to make a positive difference in the world, whether through our solutions which help the top companies, governments and agencies find the truth and combat illegal activities, or through our people who care about contributing and giving back both within, and outside, of Nuix. We are a Force For Good.
We're selective about who comes on board, and you should be too. But if the above sounds like a match, get in touch today and get ready for the possibility of starting a once-in-a-career journey.
Nuix is looking for a data-driven analyst to sit at the intersection of Finance and Technology. This is primarily a data, reporting, and relationship role — not a traditional accounting position. You will own and maintain Power BI tooling used to track and report R&D investment across the business, partner closely with global Technology and Product teams, and ensure Finance has accurate, timely visibility of how R&D spend is allocated and capitalised.
Some accounting knowledge is required — particularly around capitalisation and amortisation of intangible assets — but the priority hire is someone who is genuinely excited about data, systems, and building tools that connect disparate information sources. If you have a background in maths, engineering, data science, or finance with a strong systems bent, we want to hear from you.
This position will be primarily a flexible working arrangement in the Philippines as part of our Regional Operating Head Quarters.
Power BI ownership & R&D reporting
Maintain, update, and enhance the Power BI tool used for R&D costing and accounting reporting — this is the core deliverable of the role.
Prepare and validate data feeding into R&D dashboards, ensuring accuracy and consistency across NetSuite and connected systems.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual R&D reports for Finance, Tax, and business leadership.
Troubleshoot data discrepancies and work with system owners to resolve upstream issues.
Build scalable templates and internal tools (Power BI, Excel, or ERP-based) that reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
2. Business partnering with Technology & Product
Serve as the Finance contact point for R&D project teams — attending regular check-ins, understanding cost drivers, and translating financial data into actionable insights.
Work with Technology and Product leaders to ensure R&D cost information is accurate, understood, and useful for investment decisions.
Build trusted working relationships with key stakeholders across the R&D function, proactively staying across changes that affect Finance reporting.
Act as the bridge between Finance and Technology — someone who can speak both languages and anticipate downstream impacts when processes or systems change.
3. R&D accounting & compliance support
Prepare R&D-related accounting entries including capitalisation, amortisation, and expense allocations — with support and documentation available to guide you.
Support monthly close processes by running established reporting routines and flagging exceptions.
Assist in preparing supporting schedules for R&D tax incentive claims across relevant jurisdictions.
Respond to audit queries relating to R&D accounting treatment with appropriate supporting documentation.
Liaise with Tax and Technical Accounting colleagues to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.
4. Systems and Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate or streamline R&D reporting processes, particularly around data extraction, transformation, and visualisation.
Partner with the NetSuite Senior Business Analyst and Program Delivery Managers to maintain the stability and scalability of Power BI tooling.
Enhance Power Query transformations and DAX calculations to improve accuracy, performance, and usability of dashboards.
Collaborate with Finance Systems teams to design improvements that increase efficiency and data integrity across platforms.
Advanced Power BI skills — you should be able to show us what you've built, explain your data model design decisions, and demonstrate proficiency in Power Query and DAX.
Advanced Microsoft Excel — comfortable with complex formulas, data modelling, and structured analysis.
Logical, analytical mind — you approach problems methodically and can structure ambiguous situations into clear steps.
Genuine curiosity about how systems connect — you want to understand how NetSuite feeds into a report, not just run the report.
Strong communication and relationship skills — you'll be the Finance voice in conversations with engineers and product managers.
Degree in maths, engineering, data science, finance, or related analytical discipline.
Experience working in or alongside a technology or software company — understanding how R&D teams are structured is a genuine advantage.
Familiarity with NetSuite or another major ERP system — if you haven't used NetSuite specifically, that's fine as long as you're comfortable picking up new systems quickly.
Some exposure to accounting concepts, particularly around intangible asset treatment — deep technical knowledge is not required; you'll have documentation and colleagues to support you.
CPA/CA certification or progress toward it — helpful but not a requirement.
