VetsEZ is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to support testing and software quality activities for an enterprise Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) initiative focused on reducing and ultimately eliminating the use of Social Security Numbers (SSNs) within critical VistA applications.

The initiative will modify workflows, user interfaces, reports, audit records, and related processes across ADT, PCE, AICS, Record Tracking, and VistA Audit Solutions, reducing exposure of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and transitioning applicable functionality toward approved enterprise identifiers.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing across impacted VistA packages.

• Validate removal or replacement of SSN data within workflows, user interfaces, reports, audit records, and related processes.

• Verify appropriate implementation of enterprise identifiers and expected application behavior.

• Perform manual and, where applicable, automated testing.

• Clearly document software defects, unexpected behavior, and test failures.

• Track defects through investigation, correction, retesting, and closure.

• Collaborate with developers and Business Analysts to reproduce issues and validate resolutions.

• Participate in defect triage and provide information regarding defect severity, impact, and reproducibility.

• Validate that implemented functionality meets documented business, technical, privacy, and security requirements.

• Support testing associated with PII/PHI protection and applicable NIST control requirements.

• Maintain traceability between project requirements, acceptance criteria, test cases, and results.

• Identify gaps in test coverage and recommend improvements to QA processes.

• Participate in Sprint Planning, backlog refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.

• Collaborate with the QA Lead, developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Communicate testing progress, defects, risks, and impediments to the QA Lead and project team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.

• Experience developing and executing software test cases and test scripts.

• Experience documenting and tracking software defects.

• Experience performing functional and regression testing within enterprise software environments.

• Experience collaborating with developers and Business Analysts throughout the software development lifecycle.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience testing Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other Federal healthcare applications.

• Experience testing VistA applications or familiarity with MUMPS-based systems.

• Familiarity with ADT, PCE, AICS, Record Tracking, VistA Audit Solutions, or related VistA packages.
