The role involves creating high-converting static and motion graphics, as well as editing UGC for paid social channels like Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. You will also leverage generative AI tools to build scalable design systems and rapidly iterate on ad variations based on performance data.
Role Overview: The Performance Designer & Video Editor plays a crucial role in driving growth and conversion across all paid social touchpoints, primarily focusing on channels such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. Combining strong creative instinct with execution, this role turns strategic insights into high-converting statics, dynamic motion graphics, and engaging UGC edits that capture attention and compel action. This position is designed for an AI-first creator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced performance marketing environment. Rather than viewing AI as an optional add-on, the ideal candidate uses generative tools as a primary engine to multiply output speed, build scalable design systems, accelerate creative testing, and reliably produce high-performing ad variations at scale.
Essential
Performance Design & Video Portfolio: Proven experience in digital graphic design and short-form video editing, backed by a strong portfolio of live paid social ads (statics, motion graphics, and UGC).
Mobile-First Ad Mechanics: Deep understanding of paid social frameworks, including scroll-stopping hooks, fast-paced retention pacing, native visual triggers, dynamic captions, and platform safe zones.
Tool Stack Mastery: Design capability in Figma or Canva, paired with proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or CapCut Pro).
Generative AI Workflows: Practical experience using AI production tools (such as ElevenLabs, Midjourney, Runway, HeyGen, or Captions) to accelerate ideation and editing.
High-Volume UGC Iteration: Hands-on experience editing raw creator footage into polished ad concepts and rapidly building multiple hook/layout variations from a single brief.
Performance Collaboration: Agile, collaborative mindset - able to take data-driven feedback from Creative Strategists and Performance Marketers to quickly iterate on creatives and generate variations.
Desirable
Performance Marketing Context: Experience working directly within or alongside growth/performance marketing teams or agency ad operations.
Data Fluency: Practical understanding of key performance metrics (such as Click-Through Rate, Hook Rate, Hold Rate) and how visual decisions directly influence ad outcomes.
D2C or Regulated Space: Previous experience with Direct-to-Consumer (D2C), health tech, or healthcare brands.
Education & Qualifications:
Degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design, Digital Media, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong creative output.
Design & Asset Production
Direct-Response Statics: Design high-converting, mobile-first static ad graphics and layout variations.
Short-Form Video & UGC: Cut raw creator footage into engaging, fast-paced videos with native captions, sound design, and pattern interrupts.
Platform Optimization: Ensure all deliverables strictly adhere to platform safe zones, mobile aspect ratios, and channel best practices.
Rapid Creative Iteration
Hook & Angle Testing: Partner closely with the Creative Strategist to brainstorm and execute new visual hooks, copy angles, and graphic variations to combat creative fatigue and scale campaign spend.
Data-Driven Edits: Rapidly spin out variations of winning concepts based on performance data.
AI-Powered Workflows & Systems
Generative Production: Actively integrate generative AI tools (e.g., for voiceover synthesis, script-to-video editing, image generation, and automated captioning) to multiply weekly creative output.
AI Asset Management: Build and maintain a library of assets (AI-tagged / organized), motion presets, and modular templates for rapid variant creation.
Workflow Innovation: Continuously test and evaluate new AI tools, plugins, and generative workflows to reduce turnaround times and lower production overhead.
