Middle Java Developer

You will be:

• developing and maintaining backend applications with a strong focus on REST API development,
• participating in the ongoing migration from Java 8 to newer Java versions, including Java 21/25,
• designing and implementing solutions using Java, Spring, and jOOQ,
• working with a platform consisting of multiple services communicating through REST APIs, with an increasing shift towards asynchronous communication,
• working with Kafka and other messaging technologies as part of the platform's evolution,
• contributing to CI/CD processes, code reviews, and maintaining high code quality,
• collaborating with the team to improve existing systems and deliver new functionality.

Your profile:

• 4+ years of professional experience in Java development,
• strong experience with Java, including Java version upgrades and migration from Java 8 to newer versions,
• hands-on experience with Spring and Tomcat,
• practical experience with jOOQ,
• experience with Java Server Faces (JSF) and PrimeFaces,
• experience working with MS SQL,
• experience developing and consuming REST APIs,
• familiarity with GitHub repositories, CI processes, and code reviews,
• practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery,
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
• good command of English (min. B2).

• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have:

• familiarity with Kafka, Apache Storm, and KSQL,
• experience with asynchronous communication and event-driven architectures,
• familiarity with SOAP,
• basic knowledge of AWS, particularly services such as S3,
• experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work,
• interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices, such as agent-based workflows, automation patterns, or AI-augmented development.
