The Marketing Director will own the end-to-end marketing strategy, including brand positioning, demand generation, and retail marketing while maintaining full P&L accountability. They will lead integrated campaigns, manage creative production, and oversee performance marketing to drive growth and revenue targets.
About the role
We're looking for a hands-on Marketing Director for RAW Nutrition who can move fluidly between big-picture brand strategy and in-the-weeds execution. This is not a role for someone who only sets direction and hands off — you'll build the plan, then roll up your sleeves to help ship the campaign, edit the packaging copy, or pull the sales deck together yourself. You'll own marketing end-to-end: brand, demand generation, retail/trade marketing, digital, and content, with full P&L accountability for the marketing budget.
This role suits someone who has worked at a company without a large marketing department and is comfortable being the strategist and the operator.
What you'll do
Strategy & Brand
Own the brand strategy, positioning, and messaging across all channels and touchpoints
Develop and manage the annual marketing plan and budget, tied to revenue and growth targets
Translate company goals into a prioritized marketing roadmap
Monitor category trends, competitive activity, and consumer insights to inform strategy
Execution
Plan and execute integrated campaigns across digital, social, email, retail, and (where applicable) traditional media
Manage content creation and creative production — briefing designers/agencies or producing assets directly when needed
Oversee e-commerce and DTC marketing (site content, promotions, paid and organic acquisition)
Lead retail/trade marketing efforts: packaging, in-store materials, broker/retailer support, and launch plans for new SKUs
Manage social media strategy and calendar, either directly or through a coordinator/agency
Growth & Analytics
Own performance marketing (paid social, search, Amazon/retail media as applicable) and manage agency or freelance partners
Set KPIs and report regularly on marketing performance, ROI, and budget vs. actuals
Run A/B tests and iterate on messaging, creative, and channel mix based on data
Talent, Creator & Ambassador Strategy
Shape overall strategy across creators, influencers, athletes, and brand ambassadors — while dedicated owners run day-to-day relationships and execution, you stay closely involved in the strategic direction and prioritization of these partnerships
Help define and evolve the creator ecosystem: seeding programs, UGC strategy, paid creator partnerships, affiliate/commerce initiatives, ambassador programs, and larger-scale talent collaborations
Ensure talent and creator work ladders up to broader brand strategy and campaign moments rather than running as a disconnected workstream
Partner with the team(s) managing these relationships to align on budget, priorities, and how talent/creator investment shows up across the full marketing calendar
Experiential & Community Activations
Partner with and support the Experiential/Community team in bringing the brand to life through in-person consumer interactions and events, especially around key launches and partnerships
Help shape community-building initiatives alongside the Field team, ensuring activations connect back to broader brand strategy and priorities
Ensure experiential and community moments are integrated into the overall marketing calendar and messaging, not planned in isolation
Provide strategic input and budget alignment for major activations, even where a dedicated team owns execution
Cross-functional
Partner with Sales on retailer pitches, sell sheets, and trade show presence
Work with Product/R&D on new product launches, naming, and go-to-market timing
Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and pricing/promotion strategy
7+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2–3 years in a CPG, food & beverage, beauty, or consumer products environment
A track record of both setting strategy and personally executing campaigns — not just managing others who do
Experience with retail/trade marketing and understanding of the retailer/distributor landscape (a plus if you've worked with brokers or major retail buyers)
Strong grasp of digital marketing fundamentals: paid social, SEO/SEM, email, e-commerce
Comfort with data — you can build a dashboard, read a P&L, and make a case with numbers
Excellent writing and communication skills; you can write the copy and edit someone else's
Experience managing agencies, freelancers, or a small internal team
Familiarity with the creator/influencer/talent landscape and how these partnerships fit into a broader brand strategy, even if you haven't run day-to-day relationships yourself
Comfort partnering closely with specialized teams (talent, experiential/community) where you're shaping strategy without owning every execution detail
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Haves
Experience launching new products/SKUs from concept to shelf
Familiarity with Amazon and retail media advertising platforms
Prior experience at a company transitioning from founder-led to structured marketing function
Design or content creation skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, video editing)
