CTG is seeking a Mainframe Developer (COBOL/CICS/DB2) to support enterprise application development and maintenance within an IBM z/OS environment. This contract is ideal for an experienced mainframe professional with strong COBOL development skills and expertise in CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and Endevor.

 

Location: Remote
Duration: 5 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain IBM Mainframe z/OS applications.
  • Design, code, test, and support COBOL applications utilizing CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring application stability and performance.
  • Perform code maintenance, enhancements, and application modernization activities.
  • Utilize Endevor for source code management and application deployment.
  • Develop and execute unit testing and support system integration testing.
  • Document technical designs, programming changes, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of IBM Mainframe application development experience.

  • Experience working with DB2 databases and VSAM file structures.
  • Experience with Endevor source control and release management.
  • Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $45.00 to $50.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
