Position Summary

The Internal Fraud Investigator is responsible for conducting internal investigations of employee fraud. Requires coordination with internal partners such as HR, Legal, and business line leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors, detects, and investigates cases of internal employee fraud.

  • Coordinate with HR, Legal, and business line leadership throughout investigations.

  • Conduct complex case investigations, including transactions and system inquiries, email and chat, online activity, access card activity, surveillance video, workspace searches and interviews with employees and leadership

  • Thorough documentation and detailed referrals to local, state, and federal law enforcement

  • Monitors trends in internal fraud and utilize data analytics and investigation tools to detect fraud.

  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial report and/or legal documents.

  • Ability to respond in writing to customer complaints, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees in the organization

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors

  • Understanding of applicable regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct potentially confrontational interviews

  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Location

  • This position is open to candidates located anywhere within our footprint.

    

Education and/or Experience  

  • BS/BA Degree (4 year) from an accredited university /college

  • 5+ years’ experience in bank fraud management

  • 2+ years of experience conducting internal investigations, preferred.
