About the role: Fast paced, Chicago based flooring company is looking for a full time Estimator to join the Get-Flooring team! As a Flooring Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the materials and their quantities required for various flooring projects. Your primary duties will involve reviewing project specifications, assessing floor plans and measurements, and utilizing industry-standard software tools to generate accurate flooring estimates. 


Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and floor plans to understand the scope and requirements of flooring projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to gather necessary information and clarify project details.
  • Utilize industry-specific software tools (e.g., Measure Square) to accurately calculate material quantities
  • Consider factors such as material type, subfloor condition, installation method, and other variables to provide appropriate recommendations and estimates.
  • Maintain accurate records of project details, estimations, and communications
  • Stay updated with industry trends, flooring products, and installation techniques to provide informed recommendations and accurate estimates.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex project specifications and architectural drawings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Flooring Estimator or similar role, with expertise in estimating flooring materials.
  • Strong knowledge of flooring types, installation methods, subfloor preparation, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in using industry-specific software tools for estimation, such as flooring estimation software, CAD software, and measurement tools.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and ability to perform precise calculations and measurements.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience can be considered.
