Key Responsibilities

  • Copilot agent development: Build, configure, test and maintain Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio agents.

  • Project contribution: Onboard quickly to existing initiatives, understand current designs and code, and complete assigned development or improvement work.

  • Software development: Develop maintainable components, integrations and services using established engineering practices.

  • Automation and scripting: Create automation using Python, PowerShell, REST APIs, Power Automate and other suitable technologies.

  • CI/CD: Build and maintain automated pipelines for source control, testing, deployment and environment promotion.

  • Solution design: Translate requirements into practical technical designs, integration flows and architecture diagrams for assigned solutions.

  • Prompt engineering: Create, test and improve prompts and agent instructions; document reusable patterns and usage guidance.

  • Quality assurance: Perform functional testing, prompt testing, regression checks and troubleshooting for AI and automation solutions.

  • Documentation and training: Prepare technical documentation, implementation guides, support instructions and training material. Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions when required.

  • Operational support: Monitor delivered solutions, investigate defects and support controlled updates throughout the solution lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience in software engineering, application development or automation engineering.

  • Hands-on experience developing generative AI solutions or agents.

  • Practical experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, including knowledge sources, topics, actions, connectors, authentication, testing and publishing.

  • Strong prompt engineering skills, including instruction design, context definition, examples, grounding and iterative testing.

  • Experience developing different agent types, including FAQ, task-execution and agent-orchestration scenarios.

  • Programming or scripting proficiency in Python and PowerShell.

  • Unix shell scripting proficiency is desirable

  • Experience integrating REST APIs and working with structured data formats such as JSON.

  • Demonstrable experience with Git and CI/CD using Azure DevOps, GitHub or an equivalent platform.

  • Ability to understand existing software designs and define practical architectures for small to medium solutions.

  • Experience producing clear technical documentation and training material.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, process owners and end users.

  • Professional English communication skills, written and verbal.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search or Microsoft Semantic Kernel.

  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation, grounding, embeddings, vector search or enterprise knowledge sources.

  • Microsoft Graph, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power Apps and standard enterprise connectors.

  • Multi-agent concepts, tool calling, workflow orchestration or Model Context Protocol concepts.

  • Automated testing, API testing and basic security testing.

  • Ansible, Terraform, Bash or similar automation technologies.

  • Cloud services, containers or infrastructure-as-code fundamentals.

  • Experience supporting pilot solutions through deployment and early operational use.

 

Candidate Profile

The preferred candidate is a hands-on software or automation engineer who has developed practical expertise in generative AI and Microsoft Copilot. The individual should be comfortable learning an existing solution, writing code, creating agents, configuring integrations, improving prompts and maintaining delivery pipelines. The role is best suited to someone who can work independently on assigned technical tasks while collaborating with architects, product owners and platform teams when broader decisions are required.

Suggested Experience Range

  • 4 or more years of experience in software development, application engineering or automation.

  • 2 or more years of experience in scripting, integration or CI/CD delivery.

  • Demonstrable recent experience developing generative AI solutions or agents.

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio or a comparable agent-development platform.
