The Accounting Manager will own day-to-day accounting operations, focusing heavily on managing job and project costing, overseeing the monthly close, and preparing financial statements and management reports. This role also involves managing payroll and ensuring compliance with GAAP while improving accounting processes.

Our client is a growing specialty construction company seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting and financial operations. What You’ll Do
- Own day-to-day accounting operations using QuickBooks Online
- Manage job and project costing, ensuring accurate tracking of labor, materials, and margins
- Oversee monthly close, financial statements, and management reporting
- Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Work with outside CPA for Tax Purposes
- Manage payroll and payroll-related reporting (ADP, Paylocity, or similar systems)
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and support external accountants as needed
- Improve and document accounting processes as the company continues to grow
- Provide financial insights to help leadership make informed business decisions
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction or project-based environments
- Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
- Proven experience with job/project costing
- Payroll system experience (ADP, Paylocity, or similar)
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the full accounting function
- CPA is a plus, but not required
