Romania is not a peripheral market.

Large cereal acreage. Maize. Sunflower. Oilseed rape. Price-sensitive growers. Strong distributor influence. Aggressive generics competition.

This is not a maintenance role.

As Commercial Country Lead Lead, you will establish and scale Life Scientific's commercial platform in Romania. You'll define the go-to-market strategy. Shape the distributor landscape. Drive product penetration. And position Life Scientific as a technically credible, commercially serious player in a crowded market.

You won't inherit a mature structure.

You'll build one.

Success here means earning trust quickly — with distributors, agronomists and large-scale growers — while delivering disciplined, profitable growth. You're not here to participate. You're here to win intelligently.


This Role Is For You If…

You know the Romanian crop protection market from the inside.

You understand how decisions are actually made — not how they look on a channel map. You have relationships that matter. You're commercially sharp enough to compete in a generics-heavy environment without racing to the bottom on price.

You're comfortable building from scratch. You don't wait for central direction. You bring structured plans and make things happen.

You can negotiate hard with a distributor and then sit with a farmer and speak their language. You think in margin, not just volume. You enjoy autonomy — and the accountability that comes with it.


What You'll Lead

Build the Romanian Commercial Platform
Define and execute the national go-to-market strategy. Build Life Scientific's distribution footprint across key regions. Establish the brand as trusted and technically credible. Translate central portfolio strategy into locally winning execution.

Drive Profitable Growth
Own revenue growth, pipeline development and market share expansion. Secure strategic agreements with distributors, retailers, co-operatives and key accounts. Identify high-value crop segments and regional growth pockets. Deliver margin discipline in a competitive pricing environment.

Own Market Intelligence
Monitor competitor positioning, pricing strategies and channel movements — and turn insight into commercial action. Identify Romanian-specific portfolio gaps. Act as the voice of the market within the wider business.

Orchestrate Cross-Functional Delivery
Work closely with Regulatory, Portfolio and Supply Chain to ensure smooth product launches. Drive accurate forecasting and demand planning. Make sure commercial commitments are matched with operational execution.

Lead with Commercial Discipline
Own country-level budgeting, forecasting and performance delivery. Maintain sustainable margins. Build structured growth plans that balance ambition with realism.


What You Bring

You've led commercial growth within crop protection, agrochemicals or agricultural inputs in Romania. You bring a strong network across distributors, retailers, co-ops and large farming enterprises — and you've proven you can grow market share in competitive, generics-driven environments.

Beyond that:

  • Deep understanding of Romanian crop dynamics and regional nuances

  • Experience with revenue ownership and P&L accountability

  • Strong negotiation capability and disciplined commercial judgement

  • Fluency in Romanian and English

A degree in Agriculture, Agronomy or Business is helpful. Commercial credibility matters more.


What Success Looks Like

Within 24–36 months, you will have established Life Scientific as a recognised and credible player in Romania. Built a strong, reliable distribution network. Delivered sustainable revenue growth and healthy margins. And created a scalable commercial foundation for long-term expansion.
