The intern will conduct desk research, analyze environmental data, and monitor emerging climate policies to support the research team. They will also assist in the preparation of research papers, policy briefs, and various knowledge products.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Climate and Environment Research Intern to support research and analysis on climate change, environmental sustainability, and related policy and development issues. The intern will work closely with the research team to gather and analyze data, review literature, monitor emerging environmental trends, and contribute to research reports, briefs, and other knowledge products.
This internship is an excellent opportunity for a final year student or fresh graduate interested in climate policy, environmental science, sustainability, development, or related fields to gain practical research experience and contribute to evidence-based solutions for environmental challenges.
Conduct desk research on climate change, environmental policy, sustainability, and related topics.
Review academic literature, policy documents, reports, and credible datasets.
Collect, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative environmental data.
Track emerging climate and environmental policies, initiatives, and global developments.
Support the preparation of research papers, policy briefs, presentations, reports, and summaries.
Assist with data visualization, charts, tables, and other research outputs.
Contribute to research on topics such as climate adaptation, mitigation, biodiversity, renewable energy, environmental governance, and sustainable development.
Support interviews, surveys, consultations, or stakeholder research where required.
Maintain accurate records of research sources, datasets, and references.
Assist the team with other research and analytical activities as needed.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Climate Studies, Sustainability, Geography, Development Studies, Public Policy, Economics, or a related discipline.
Strong research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to collect, evaluate, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly Word/Docs and Excel/Sheets.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Familiarity with climate change and environmental policy issues.
Experience with academic or policy research.
Basic knowledge of data analysis or visualization tools.
Familiarity with research databases, statistical sources, or GIS tools is an advantage.
Understanding of international climate frameworks and sustainable development goals is a plus.
Practical experience in climate and environmental research.
Exposure to policy, sustainability, and development-related projects.
