The Department seeks a highly qualified World Languages Content Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide leadership, content expertise, and project management support for statewide World Languages initiatives. The contractor will collaborate with department staff, educators, district leaders, and advisory panelists to support the development and implementation of high-quality instructional resources, standards-aligned materials, and professional learning opportunities that advance World Languages education. 

The contractor will serve as the primary content expert for assigned World Languages projects and initiatives while ensuring alignment with state standards, instructional priorities, and department goals. 

Key Responsibilities 

Materials Evaluation and Review 

  • Develop, revise, and maintain World Languages instructional materials evaluation rubrics. 

  • Ensure evaluation tools align with state standards, instructional expectations, and department guidelines. 

  • Support the review and analysis of instructional materials and related resources. 

  • Provide recommendations regarding the quality, alignment, and usability of materials for educators and stakeholders. 

Advisory Panel Development and Management 

  • Design and manage the application process for World Languages advisory panelists. 

  • Develop application materials, selection criteria, and review protocols. 

  • Review and analyze applications and provide recommendations for panel membership. 

  • Coordinate with department staff to ensure diverse and representative panel participation. 

Advisory Panel Training 

  • Develop training materials and supporting resources for advisory panel members. 

  • Facilitate training sessions to prepare panelists for participation in standards, materials review, and other department initiatives. 

  • Provide ongoing guidance and content expertise throughout advisory panel activities. 

  • Support meeting planning, facilitation, and documentation as needed. 

Standards and Instructional Resource Support 

  • Provide expertise related to World Languages standards and instructional shifts. 

  • Develop and revise instructional focus documents and supporting guidance materials. 

  • Assist with interpretation and implementation support related to World Languages standards. 

  • Collaborate with department staff to ensure consistency and alignment across resources and communications. 

Professional Learning and Presentations 

  • Design and deliver presentations for educational leaders, district staff, and classroom educators. 

  • Develop professional learning materials that support implementation of instructional shifts and best practices in World Languages education. 

  • Facilitate virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings. 

  • Respond to stakeholder questions and provide technical assistance related to World Languages initiatives. 

Project Management and Collaboration 

  • Manage assigned projects, timelines, deliverables, and communications. 

  • Collaborate with department staff and external partners to ensure successful completion of project goals. 

  • Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and other project-related documentation. 

  • Maintain organized records and materials related to assigned initiatives. 

 

 

Additional Duties 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department in support of World Languages programs, instructional initiatives, and strategic priorities. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in World Languages, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Linguistics, or a related field. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in World Languages instruction, curriculum, assessment, and standards implementation. 

  • Experience developing instructional resources, professional learning materials, or educational guidance documents. 

  • Experience facilitating meetings, trainings, or presentations for educators and educational leaders. 

  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholder groups. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Advanced degree in Education, World Languages, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. 

  • Experience supporting state-level, district-level, or large-scale educational initiatives. 

  • Experience developing instructional materials evaluation tools or rubric-based review processes. 

  • Knowledge of current research and best practices in World Languages teaching and learning. 

  • Experience engaging with advisory groups, committees, or educator workgroups. 

Deliverables 

The contractor will be expected to produce and/or support: 

  • Materials evaluation rubrics and related guidance documents. 

  • Advisory panelist application materials and selection recommendations. 

  • Advisory panel training materials and facilitated training sessions. 

  • Instructional focus documents and standards implementation resources. 

  • Presentation decks, professional learning resources, and training materials. 

  • Project summaries, reports, and stakeholder communications. 

  • Additional deliverables as assigned by the department. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Deep knowledge of World Languages standards, instructional practices, and curriculum design. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to facilitate collaborative discussions and professional learning. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 

  • Proficiency with common productivity and presentation tools. 

  • Commitment to supporting high-quality, standards-aligned instruction for all learners.
