Job summary:

Assembles fabricated parts at floor stations. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepares components of the cabinets to company standards to include deburring edges, peeling paper, cutting materials to prepare for assembly and welding.

2. Assembles individual components such as doors, glass and other required items to prepare pieces for assembly onto the cabinet as evidenced by the blueprint.

3. Assembles cabinets completely and accurately in accordance with the print as evidenced by no damage to the doors, shelving, drawers, facings, slides, inner panels, hinges, locks and catches.

4. Finishes components to include doors and cabinets in a proper, efficient, timely manner using appropriate tools and techniques to achieve an acceptable high standard as evidenced by the overall look of the final product.

5. Recognizes damage and flaws in cabinets/materials before inspections and corrects the problem or brings to an appropriate individual if not qualified to repair the damage/flaw as evidenced by supervisor’s observation.

6. Processes job orders in a timely and accurate manner as evidenced by the completed traveler with appropriate job and item numbers.

7. Logs in timely to start the day and logs out at the end of the shift as well as on and off jobs accurately throughout the day on the E2 system as evidenced by the time records.

8. Demonstrates a motivated willingness to do the job and work at an appropriate pace and to produce a quality product as evidenced supervisors observation

9. Responsible to clean up area at the end of each shift as evidenced by supervisor’s observation.

10. Other duties as required by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. May require 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Abilities Required:

1. Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of material, methods, tools and equipment.

3. Demonstrated ability to work in poor lighting, heating and ventilation.

4. Demonstrated ability to work in extreme hot and cold conditions.

5. Demonstrated ability to work in dirty and noisy areas.

6. Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools.

7. Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints.

8. Demonstrated ability to sketch schematics.

9. Demonstrated ability to work in tight places.

10. Demonstrated ability to lift moderately heavy objects (50-90 pounds).

11. Demonstrated ability to do excessive walking, standing, bending and stooping.

12. Demonstrated ability to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards.
