Job DetailsJob Location: Optional work from home - anywhere, DC 00000Position Type: ContractorEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $6,000.00 - $6,500.00 Salary/monthJob Category: ConsultantThe Alzheimer’s Priority Project Consultant will provide project management and strategic coordination services to support the execution of a high-impact, cross-functional initiative focused on advancing understanding, research, and clinical outcomes at the intersection of Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease (DS-AD). The Consultant will support implementation of the project’s multi-pronged strategic framework, including stakeholder alignment, awareness, research participation, regulatory engagement, and diagnostic advancement. This engagement requires a highly organized, self-directed professional with strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills. The Consultant will coordinate with NDSS teams and external partners, including advocacy organizations, researchers, industry partners, and regulatory stakeholders, to facilitate project activities, track progress, and support achievement of established goals and deliverables. The Consultant will provide ongoing project management support, help coordinate priorities and deliverables, and contribute to advancing the Alzheimer’s Priority Project while ensuring that individuals with Down syndrome and their families remain central to project activities and outcomes. This is a project-based consulting engagement supporting the Alzheimer’s Priority Project, with an anticipated scope of approximately 40 hours per week through June 30, 2028. The engagement is funded through the project period and is subject to the scope, deliverables, and available project funding. Any extension beyond June 30, 2028, would be subject to mutual agreement, continued project needs, and available funding.   Scope of WorkProject Management & Implementation The Consultant will provide project management and implementation services to support the Alzheimer’s Priority Project, including: Develop, maintain, and periodically update an integrated project plan outlining timelines, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and responsible parties. Utilize Asana, as appropriate, to organize project workflows, track deliverables and deadlines, maintain project documentation, and provide visibility into project progress. Coordinate project meetings and working sessions, including preparing agendas and materials, documenting key decisions and action items, and facilitating appropriate follow-up. Monitor project progress and identify potential risks, barriers, delays, and dependencies, bringing matters requiring organizational or subject-matter decisions to the appropriate NDSS representatives. Maintain project files, resources, presentations, reports, and other materials related to the initiative. Track project metrics, grant requirements, milestones, and deliverables and provide periodic progress reports and recommendations to designated NDSS stakeholders. Provide budget tracking support in coordination with NDSS Operations, including monitoring project-related expenses and identifying potential variances. Coordinate deliverables involving other consultants, vendors, and external partners, as appropriate. Support project closeout activities, including documenting outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for activities continuing beyond the project period. Stakeholder Alignment & Narrative Development The Consultant will provide stakeholder coordination and communications support to advance alignment around the Alzheimer’s Priority Project, including: Support existing partnerships and collaborations to promote alignment around unified, evidence-based messaging related to DS-AD. Facilitate coordination of communications, workflows, and timelines among internal and external collaborators in support of project goals. Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities and support meetings with collaborators, including scheduling, agendas, materials, documentation, and follow-up. Represent NDSS in external meetings related to the project, as requested and in coordination with the appropriate NDSS representative. National Campaign Leadership The Consultant will provide project coordination services related to research components of the national DS-AD awareness campaign, including: Serve as the primary project coordination resource for research-related activities associated with the national awareness campaign. Support research-related activities necessary to execute a sustained national awareness campaign focused on DS-AD and facilitate planning and tracking of related engagement. Coordinate research-related activation and follow-up activities following campaign launch. Track campaign-related activities, milestones, engagement, and deliverables and provide updates to designated NDSS stakeholders. Community Engagement & Empowerment The Consultant will support strategies designed to meaningfully engage individuals with Down syndrome and their families in DS-AD research, including: Collaborate with the Chief Research Engagement Officer and Director of Research Engagement & Impact, as appropriate, to support strategies that meaningfully engage individuals and families in DS-AD research. Contribute to the development of accessible tools, resources, and guidance to support informed decision-making regarding clinical trial participation. Coordinate the drafting, editing, production, and distribution of project-related tools and resources. Support coordination with community stakeholders and partners to facilitate awareness, engagement, and participation. Researcher Education & Engagement The Consultant will provide coordination and project support for researcher education and engagement activities, including: Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Research Engagement to support projects that provide Down syndrome-related information and education to clinical trial sites, sponsors, and industry stakeholders to improve readiness for DS-AD research. Prepare and coordinate materials, documents, presentations, and other resources related to researcher education and engagement. Support coordination with research, clinical, industry, and other external stakeholders involved in DS-AD research initiatives.
