Purpose of Role

The History and Political Science Department at Daemen University is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor for an upper division, writing instructive course in American politics. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching PSC 347 (American Political Institutions), with oversight by the Chair of the History and Political Science Department to ensure compliance with departmental, curricular, and institutional requirements. The course focuses on the main political institutions within the American context. This includes the Constitution, Congress and legislative politics, the presidency, the judiciary, political parties, and the electoral system. The course will be offered in an online, asynchronous modality.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Political Science or a closely related field A clear understanding of the American Political system - especially the institutions surrounding legislative, executive, judicial, and electoral powers

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching undergraduate students strongly preferred Experience evaluating the written work of undergraduate students in an upper-division liberal arts course strongly preferred.
