About Amini
Amini builds the sovereign, AI-native infrastructure stack for the Global South: the data, compute, and connectivity that let governments and enterprises own their digital future instead of renting it from someone else. We already work with governments including Barbados, and our work has been recognised by TIME100 AI, MIT Solve, and the World Economic Forum. Put simply, we help our partners put AI to work in ways that actually move the needle, and we make sure that opportunity doesn't stay locked up in a handful of countries.
We live by five values: Collaboration, Trust, Integrity, Humility, and Passion. That's not a poster on the wall. It shows up in how we work day to day: sharing credit and information by default, being upfront about what we don't know yet, and owning a mistake early instead of protecting an ego.
We're small, sharp, and deliberately non-hierarchical. Everyone here knows the work is genuinely transformational, but we try to stay humble about it. We want people who'll bring their full skill set, share ideas without ego, and help us grow our impact, from the governments and communities we already serve today into something much bigger across the Global South and the AI industry at large.
We're three years in and hitting a genuinely exciting point. The early years were about proving the model. Having done that in Barbados, we're now scaling into multiple markets at once, and that means we need sharp people across more disciplines than ever.
Why We're At the Indaba
This year's Indaba theme, Sovereign Intelligence: Africa's Path in a Frontier AI World, is basically a description of what we do at Amini every single day. We build the sovereign data, compute, and connectivity infrastructure that lets African governments and enterprises own and direct their own AI future, instead of depending on outside platforms. We are excited to meet like minded AI practitioners and technologists with the talent, ideas, and ambition, that's why we're in Lagos, and why we want to meet you there.
About This Talent Pipeline
This isn't a job ad for one role. It's how we're building our talent pipeline, straight from the Deep Learning Indaba community: researchers, students, and practitioners from across Africa and beyond who believe the continent's AI future should be built and owned here. Amini is scaling fast across Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Ops, and Commercial, and we'd rather start building a relationship with great people now, before we have the exact role that fits.
Register your interest and you're in the pool of candidates our team actively reviews as new roles open. We'll reach out directly the moment there's a match, whether that's in a few weeks or once we've launched in a new market.
Why Amini
Where We Will be Hiring
We're an infratech company building sovereign data, compute, and connectivity, so we hire across a genuinely wide spread of disciplines, and we expect this list to keep growing as we scale:
Don't see your discipline? If you think there's a place for you at Amini as we grow, we still want to hear from you.
What We Look For
What Happens After You Register
A few weeks after the Indaba, we'll invite everyone who's registered to a Teams call. Expect to hear about Amini, what our mission actually looks like in practice, and what it's like to work here day to day, plus a few of our own team will jump on to talk honestly about their experience, the good parts and the hard parts.
We'll be straight with you: we might not have a live role the moment you register. But when we are hiring, our talent database is the first place we look, before anywhere else. Registering and joining that call is a genuine way to build a relationship with us, not a CV disappearing into a folder.
