AI Summary

You will own the UX architecture and product strategy for Shop Builder and the broader B2B monetization ecosystem. This includes defining scalable patterns and collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to drive decisions that improve conversion and partner revenue.

About Xsolla

Xsolla is a global gaming commerce company that provides the business engine behind 2,000+ game developers and publishers worldwide. Founded in 2005, Xsolla builds the payments, storefront, and monetization infrastructure that lets game developers sell directly to players — at a global scale, across 200+ countries, 20+ languages, and 1,000+ payment methods.

Headquartered and incorporated in Los Angeles, California, Xsolla operates with a global footprint. Offices and hubs mentioned include North Carolina (US), a growing presence in Canada, Berlin, Serbia, multiple offices in China, plus Tokyo and Seoul. Teams are broadly distributed across time zones.

What They’re Building

Shop Builder is a Shopify-like platform for the video game industry: a no-code / low-code way for game developers to create fully branded web stores to sell virtual goods, currencies, and subscriptions directly to players, without building custom storefronts from scratch.

It integrates with Xsolla checkout and is designed for real-world constraints such as localization, regional pricing, and game-specific monetization patterns. The broader ecosystem also includes tooling for campaigns/LiveOps, catalog management, and templates, and it’s evolving from a historically service-heavy, custom approach toward a more scalable self-serve platform.

About You

Xsolla is looking for an experienced product designer who can own UX architecture and product strategy, someone who goes beyond execution and helps shape how the product evolves.

You’re comfortable on the technical side: you understand how software is built, can read a pull request, navigate Git, and talk to engineers as a peer (not just handoffs). You’re also a strong communicator — clear in critique, crisp in stakeholder discussions, and thoughtful in how you tell the story. And most importantly, you’re driven by innovation. Xsolla has active AI initiatives, and this role will help shape how AI-driven workflows and features take form across the product.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Owning UX architecture and product strategy for Shop Builder / the broader B2B monetization ecosystem.

  • Defining scalable patterns, principles, and flows that work across a complex platform (not just single screens).

  • Partnering closely with product and engineering to drive decisions that improve conversion and partner revenue.

  • Working effectively across a distributed stakeholder map (US product leadership + Europe-heavy design collaboration).

  • Navigating constraints and dependencies across tooling, templates, and integration realities.

  • Contributing to (and benefit from) a mature cross-functional setup: UX Research, UX Writing, DesignOps, and a functioning design system.

  • Helping the team level up hiring practices (case interviews + optional whiteboard stage), including stronger evaluation of delivery ability.

What They’re Looking For

  • 8-10 years of product design experience with end-to-end ownership of complex products.

  • Strong UX strategy + systems thinking (ecosystem view, not just “feature view”).

  • Clear, structured communication and strong stakeholder alignment skills.

  • Comfort in data-driven environments (metrics, experiments, A/B testing where applicable).

  • Technical literacy: Git, developer workflows, and collaboration patterns with engineering.

  • Experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, fintech, or gaming is a strong advantage.

  • Curiosity about games and player purchasing behavior.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • You can lead through ambiguity and turn “messy inputs” into a clean UX direction and a practical plan.

  • You’re strong at systems thinking: you can design patterns that scale across a product ecosystem, not just a single flow.

  • You’re comfortable working with metrics and trade-offs (conversion, revenue impact, experimentation).

  • You can collaborate deeply with engineering, understand constraints, can read a PR, and aren’t afraid of Git.

  • You communicate clearly across contexts (design critique, product strategy, stakeholder alignment).

  • You’re proactive about ownership: you don’t wait for perfect briefs, you create them.

  • You’re genuinely curious about AI-enabled workflows and how new tools can change how teams ship.

What You'll Get

  • A “build the platform” moment: real influence on UX architecture as Shop Builder evolves toward self-serve.

  • Work at a meaningful scale, with measurable impact on conversion and partner revenue.

  • A strong cross-functional setup: Product, Engineering, UX Research, UX Writing, DesignOps, plus a functioning design system.

  • A remote-first environment with a globally distributed team and real ownership expectations.

  • A benefits program (healthcare, PTO, development) with specifics confirmed in process.

What's Great About This Role

This is a rare chance to shape a product that sits right at the intersection of commerce psychology, platform thinking, and games. You’ll be designing for real scale (millions of transactions), real constraints (localization, regional pricing, cross‑cultural UX), and real outcomes (conversion and revenue you can actually measure). The team is actively moving from “custom service work” toward a true self‑serve platform, which means the architecture and patterns you define will ripple across the ecosystem. If you like being early enough to influence the direction and you’re excited about shipping faster with modern, AI‑assisted workflows alongside strong engineering partners, you’ll feel at home here.
