KPMG’s Linguistic Services team in Canada is looking to fill a Senior Translator position within its External Translation Team (client audit documents). This is a full-time permanent position based in Montreal and offered on a fully remote basis.

 

To be considered for the Senior Translator role, you must have between five (5) and ten (10) years of experience in accounting or financial translation, including a minimum of five (5) years in a structured professional environment or within an accounting firm, and meet the other requirements listed below.

What you will do

  • Translate various financial, accounting, and legal documents from English into French (and revise them when required), including financial statements, management reports, Management Reports of Fund Performance (MRFPs), and sustainability reports.
  • Produce high-quality translations while meeting budget requirements and deadlines.
  • Actively participate in the management and delivery of large-scale projects.
  • Conduct research and contribute to the development and enrichment of our terminology databases.
  • Foster collaboration and make full use of available tools, resources, and collective expertise.
  • Invest in ongoing professional development, including through continuous learning and the feedback received.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation or an equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong commitment to quality and client service.
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent learning agility.
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with standard technology tools.
  • Openness, honesty, and clarity in communications.
  • Knowledge of major translation support tools, including LogiTerm, Trados/Studio, Systran, Flowfit, and Copilot.
  • Member of OTTIAQ or an equivalent organization, an asset
The successful candidate must be proficient in both English and French, as translation requests will primarily be in these languages.
