As a Senior Jira Developer at Aspire, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise Atlassian solutions that streamline business processes and support Agile delivery. You will customize Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence, develop integrations and automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions aligned with business needs.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain customized Jira workflows, issue types, screens, fields, permissions, and automation rules.
- Configure and administer Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence to support enterprise teams.
- Develop custom solutions using ScriptRunner (Groovy), Jira Automation, REST APIs, and Atlassian development tools.
- Integrate Jira with third-party applications, enterprise systems, CI/CD pipelines, and identity management solutions.
- Gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into scalable Atlassian solutions and technical recommendations.
- Design enterprise workflows, business process automation, and governance models to improve operational efficiency.
- Create dashboards, advanced JQL queries, and reports to support project tracking, service management, and business reporting.
- Perform Jira upgrades, migrations, system maintenance, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide advanced support to end users and project teams.
- Implement security, governance, permission models, and best practices across the Atlassian ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps engineers, project managers, and business stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Document system configurations, technical solutions, operational procedures, and best practices.
- Mentor junior Jira administrators and developers while promoting Atlassian standards and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with Atlassian products, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to drive platform enhancements.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and developing Atlassian Jira solutions.
- Strong expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence.
- Experience developing custom solutions using ScriptRunner (Groovy) and Jira Automation.
- Strong knowledge of JQL, dashboards, reporting, and workflow customization.
- Experience with REST API integrations, web services, and enterprise system integrations.
- Experience designing enterprise workflows, business process automation, and governance models.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and Agile project delivery.
- Experience with Jira upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and platform administration.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience documenting technical solutions and mentoring junior team members is preferred.
- Awareness or knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by ISO / SOC or similar.
