Senior Data Analyst

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to support enterprise data initiatives by analysing source systems and translating business requirements into clear technical data specifications.

The role sits between business stakeholders, application owners and Data Engineers, with a strong focus on data discovery, profiling, modelling and source-to-target mapping.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Analyse source systems, data structures, relationships and business rules.
• Perform data profiling and data quality analysis.
• Identify missing, inconsistent, duplicate or invalid data.
• Produce Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documentation.
• Define transformation rules and business logic for data integration and migration.
• Create conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Support data lineage, metadata and data governance activities.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical data specifications.
• Work closely with Data Engineers during implementation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Management, Business Analysis, or other data-focused roles.
• Strong expertise in SQL, data profiling, and data quality analysis.
• Proven experience creating and maintaining Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documentation and defining data transformation rules.
• Strong knowledge of logical and physical data modelling, including dimensional modelling and Data Warehouse concepts.
• Experience analysing transactional and operational source systems, combined with strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills.

Desired skills

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and/or Power BI. 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview and data governance best practices. 
• Understanding of Data Vault modelling methodologies. 
• Experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin or similar. 
• Exposure to Data Platforms, Lakehouse architectures, or cloud migration programmes.
