OpenStack Cloud Engineer

• Start date: ASAP/01.07.2026

• Duration: until 31.10.2026, with the possibility of extension for an additional 6-12 months

Requirements:

• Hands-on production experience with OpenStack, particularly Cinder and Nova.

• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go.

• In-depth knowledge of Linux systems administration and cloud infrastructure.

• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build management, and release processes.

• Experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.

• Prior involvement in OpenStack upstream development is a plus.

• Good command of English. German is a plus.

Nice to have:

• Experienced in using AI tools in day-to-day workflow

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain OpenStack Cinder block storage services.

• Develop and maintain OpenStack Nova compute services.

• Build and maintain automation workflows using Python and/or Go.

• Operate and administer Linux-based cloud infrastructure.

• Contribute patches and improvements to OpenStack upstream projects.

• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team.
