Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join a high-caliber patent litigation practice handling sophisticated and high-profile intellectual property disputes for leading technology, life sciences, and consumer products companies. This role is ideal for an attorney with 1 6 years of direct patent and/or trade secret litigation experience at a top law firm who is ready to take on meaningful responsibility early in their career. Associates will work on complex disputes involving cutting-edge technologies while contributing to case strategy, legal research, briefing, discovery, trial preparation, and related IP proceedings. Key Responsibilities
Handle patent and/or trade secret litigation matters involving sophisticated technology and life sciences clients Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, and other litigation materials Support complex case strategy and dispute resolution Assist with claim construction, discovery, and trial preparation Work collaboratively with attorneys across offices on sophisticated IP disputes Contribute to ITC proceedings and district court litigation matters Help analyze and explain complex technologies in connection with litigation strategy Support client counseling and ongoing case management Take on meaningful substantive responsibility and client exposure early in the role
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience: JD from an accredited law school 1 6 years of direct IP litigation experience Experience with patent and/or trade secret litigation required Current experience at a top law firm or AmLaw-level platform strongly preferred Strong academic credentials required Undergraduate degree in a hard science or engineering discipline strongly preferred Relevant backgrounds may include computer science, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, or other technical disciplines PhD in a relevant technical field is a major plus Stable career trajectory with minimal lateral moves preferred Prior engineering or technical work experience is a plus Life sciences litigation experience is a plus
Technical Skills & Competencies: Direct patent litigation experience, including claim construction, discovery, and trial preparation Strong legal research and analytical writing skills Ability to understand and explain complex technologies Knowledge of trade secret and related IP litigation matters Experience with ITC proceedings is a plus Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities
Professional Requirements: Active admission to the state bar in which the attorney is practicing required Ability to work in a hybrid environment from the Austin office Action-oriented and comfortable taking ownership of substantive client matters
