AI Summary

Lead content modernization for enterprise clients by designing information architecture, taxonomy, and content models that serve both humans and AI systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish governance frameworks and improve content discoverability across AI assistants and search engines.

At Blink, we constantly have new opportunities, so if you are interested in working for Blink, apply, and we will contact you if a position that fits your experience comes in. Blink UX is looking for Content Strategists interested in our project-based contractor pool. Project-based contracts vary in length; projects at Blink usually range from 1-4 months. Most opportunities are full-time, but sometimes part-time needs arise as well. This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse group of clients from various industries.

As a Content Strategist, you lead content modernization for enterprise clients, spanning information architecture, taxonomy, content modeling, and governance. You structure content so it works for both human audiences and AI systems, giving clients clarity, findability, and AI-readiness across complex content ecosystems. This is a principal-level role: you move fluidly between customer insight, content structure, and content management systems, and partner closely with Product Design, Engineering, and Research to deliver it.

A successful content strategist will create content structures that are intuitive for customers and readable by AI systems. Improve content discoverability, AI visibility, and search performance. Develop clear governance and documentation adopted by client content and design teams. They should have strong cross-functional collaboration skills and be able to foster stakeholder confidence in a new content model.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Lead stakeholder interviews and synthesize existing research, archetypes, and customer data to surface strategic priorities and content gaps.
  • Audit current navigation, taxonomy, and content types, and facilitate card sorts and workshops to validate content decisions against real customer language.
  • Develop a future-state navigation architecture, customer-centered taxonomy, and semantic model connecting products, categories, and use cases.
  • Define a structured data and schema strategy that improves content discoverability across search engines, AI assistants, and large language models (LLMs).
  • Assess content for AI-readiness, flagging where structure, metadata, or formatting limit how AI systems retrieve, summarize, or cite it.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design, Engineering, and Research to deliver aligned, scalable content structures.
  • Establish content governance frameworks with clear ownership, decision rules, and standards for long-term content modernization.
  • Write authoring guidelines and content models that support human readability and AI-readiness.

What We Are Looking For:
  • 8+ years in content strategy, information architecture, or a related discipline, at a principal level.
  • Proven track record designing taxonomy and content models for large, complex content ecosystems.
  • Experience with structured data, schema markup, and content optimization for AI-driven discovery.
  • Working knowledge of how LLMs and other AI systems retrieve, interpret, and surface content.
  • Experience leading enterprise-level change management and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex content and AI-readiness concepts for non-expert stakeholders.
  • CMS familiarity helpful; deep technical skill not required.
