Position Title: Early Intervention Evaluator Spanish Speaking (SLP or Special Educator) Location: New York, NY Department: Early Intervention Position Summary: We are seeking a Licensed Bilingual Spanish SLP and/or Special Educator to join our Early Intervention team. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct comprehensive evaluations of children suspected of having a developmental delay. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and families, as well as proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as the PLS-5 and DAYC 2. Ideally, this would be in-person in the child’s home in your preferred NYC borough; but can also be conducted via Telehealth with parent consent.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of children suspected of having a developmental Delay
Utilize standardized assessment tools, including but not limited to the PLS-5 and/or DAYC 2
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive evaluation reports.
Provide support and guidance to families throughout the evaluation process.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.
Stay current with research and best practices related to EI assessment and intervention.
Qualifications:
Licensed Speech Language Pathologist or Special Educator with a Birth -Grade 2 certification in NYS.
Minimum of 1year of experience working with children and families, preferably in an early intervention or clinical setting.
Demonstrated experience with standardized diagnostic tools such as PLS-5 and/or DAYC-2.
Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder and evidence-based practices for assessment and intervention.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus.
