Job Description

We are seeking a Data Analytics Senior Consultant I to lead complex, high-visibility regulatory data calls and analytical submissions. This role is responsible for ensuring deliverables are accurate, complete, traceable, defensible, and completed in alignment with quality, timeline, and stakeholder expectations.

Role Overview:

In this role, you will lead complex deliverables from intake through final submission, translate ambiguous requirements into clear execution plans, coordinate cross-team dependencies, and proactively manage delivery risk. You will set expectations for audit-ready documentation and validation rigor, serve as a trusted partner to stakeholders and upstream data owners, and strengthen team consistency through peer review, coaching, and reusable controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define execution plans for complex requests, including scope, approach, dependencies, milestones, owners, and quality gates, and lead delivery from intake through final submission.
  • Translate ambiguous business or regulatory requirements into clear, defensible data logic, validation methods, assumptions, and documentation.
  • Set and enforce documentation, traceability, validation evidence, and review-readiness expectations for complex or high-risk deliverables.
  • Lead multi-owner data investigations, align root-cause findings and corrective actions, confirm fixes through validation, and establish controls that reduce recurrence.
  • Partner directly with stakeholders and upstream data owners to align on definitions, assumptions, timelines, risks, tradeoffs, limitations, and required decisions or approvals.
  • Provide concise, decision-ready communication on delivery status, methodology, validation outcomes, risks, and recommendations.
  • Lead peer reviews for complex or sensitive work and provide standards-setting coaching that improves analytical judgment, evidence quality, and delivery consistency.
  • Develop and improve reusable queries, validation packs, templates, runbooks, playbooks, and shared controls that strengthen repeatability and reduce rework.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Three or more years of experience delivering regulatory and/or complex analytical data work, including leading workstreams, performing peer reviews, and producing audit-ready documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex deliverables with minimal oversight, coordinate contributors, and make sound decisions about delivery approach and validation depth.
  • Advanced SQL capability, including reusable query patterns and the ability to review complex logic for accuracy, readability, efficiency, and defensibility.
  • Experience using analytical and data tools such as Excel, Power Query, Python, R, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or comparable tools for data preparation, reconciliation, validation, automation, reporting, or visualization.
  • Strong knowledge of data quality controls, validation strategy, reconciliation, exception reporting, control totals, anomaly detection, and reviewer-ready evidence packaging.
  • Experience maintaining source-to-report mappings, assumptions and decision logs, change rationale, audit trails, and shared documentation repositories.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain methodology, evidence, risks, tradeoffs, and limitations to technical and business stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job does not have supervisory duties.

What Success Looks Like:

Success is measured by dependable delivery of complex work, strong stakeholder confidence, clear and reproducible evidence, early risk mitigation, reduced rework, stronger controls, and improved team capability through effective review, coaching, and standardization.
