AWS DevOps Engineer

Definity is adding an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to support and evolve cloud infrastructure across internal and client-facing projects. This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on AWS expertise with strategic thinking and enjoys collaborating with developers and stakeholders to build secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective platforms.

This is a temporary position created to support specific AWS infrastructure initiatives and project needs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure, with strong hands-on expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience provisioning and managing Amazon EC2 instances in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience configuring and managing AWS CodeDeploy.
• Experience configuring and managing Amazon S3.
• Experience using Amazon CloudWatch for infrastructure monitoring.
• Experience configuring and managing AWS Auto Scaling.
• Experience configuring and managing Amazon RDS.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience using GitHub and version control workflows.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, project stakeholders, and other technical teams.

Preferred

• Experience scripting and automating processes to monitor and manage cloud resources.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, preferably within Kubernetes or AWS environments.
• Experience with content delivery networks such as Amazon CloudFront or Fastly.

Main Activities

• Support and extend existing cloud infrastructure.
• Manage and improve infrastructure deployment processes.
• Configure and maintain Access Control Lists and infrastructure access permissions.
• Monitor cloud resources and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with developers and project stakeholders to define infrastructure requirements.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable, robust, resilient, and cost-effective cloud platforms.
• Contribute to short- and long-term technology initiatives for internal and client-facing projects.
