Job DetailsJob Location: Harrisonburg, VA 22802POSITION:  Adjunct Faculty DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Graduate Nursing PAY RANGE:  $450 - $1,300 per semester credit hour (SCH). Faculty are contracted per SCH. Actual compensation within this range is determined by factors including academic credentials, relevant professional experience, discipline, and course enrollment. Courses with lower enrollment may be prorated within this range in accordance with university policy. QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, Psy.D.) preferred (or in progress), Masters with related experience accepted RESPONSIBILITIES: To serve as an adjunct faculty member for the engineering program, teaching up to 9 semester credit hours per semester. Include the following: Graduate Certificate program Fully online and synchronous Course: TRHS 561 - The Biology of Trauma and Fostering Resilience This course will focus on how trauma and unregulated stress affect the brain and affect health in various ways.  Understanding of brain anatomy, function, regulation, and hormonal control is foundational for understanding multiple health effects that pose a significant burden for individuals, healthcare systems, and society.  The course will explore several illnesses that research continues to reveal have a link with trauma and unregulated stress.  It will allow the student to see how this awareness connects to their area of practice and experience with the ultimate goal of helping to bring light and foster resilience in those they care for, and for themselves.
