About the Company and Opportunity:

• Our client is a long standing non-for-profit organization Silver Spring, MD whose goal is to help those who are facing discrimination.
• Due to vacancy, the client is looking for a temporary Senior Accountant.
• Position is 100% Remote!
• Duration: on-going
• Pay: $35-38 per hour depending on experience , Mon-Fri, 8:00a - 5:00p.

Overview of the Senior Accountant role:

• Maintain the GL in Solomon
• Coordinate the month-end close
• Reconcile bank and other GL accounts
• Reconcile and create related journal entries for:
  • the interfund/intercompany accounts
  • indirect charges
  • prepayments for rent, fringes, insurance, and workers' compensation
• Ad hoc projects and reporting

Preferred Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Nonprofit experience is preferred
• Solomon experience is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication
