We have an exciting opportunity for a remote Windows Active Directory Engineer to join the IT GSD Platform team, within Ferguson IT. The Windows Active Directory Engineer provides support, implementation, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions. Resolves and appropriately completes assigned cases and change requests and acts as an escalation for support issues. Applies innovative solutions through research and collaboration with team and determines course of action for new application initiatives. Implements new software solutions as required by the business. The core infrastructure technology duties include enterprise Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD and Windows file services architecture creation and management, national system security and policy configuration, and top-level support for enterprise-wide initiatives. The supporting systems will reside within company owned datacenters as well as in Cloud service providers (Azure, Google Cloud, AWS and Oracle Cloud).** This role is approved to sit 100% remote. If local to the Newport News, VA area, in-office work will be available in the new HQ3 building, once permitted. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management.Produce enterprise-level designs for Active Directory, Azure AD and Windows File Services for global initiatives following those through to implementation via collaboration with project and support teams.Identify opportunities to innovate, extend and enhance service delivery everywhere possible.Own Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for corporate Active Directory Domains including Salepoint Identity management integration troubleshooting with Salepoint IDM team.Serves as escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems.Serves as the first line of escalation support for domain technology issues that cannot be resolved by tier one and two server support. Escalate to Tier 4 vendor support as required to resolve production and project issues/challenges.Create process and procedures for IT Operations to perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.Install, configure, and maintain Active Directory and third party software utilities for hardware systems within company operational guidelines.Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation.Provide training as required to other IT Operations associates.Manage customer satisfaction through effectively communicating and managing customer expectations

Basic computer skills.Advanced computer skills.Experience with supporting, implementing, and designing services for Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD and Windows-based systems across an enterprise environment.Familiar with different cloud technologies of Microsoft Azure, Oracle OCI and AWS.Knowledgeable in security logging and auditing methods - Sarbanes Oxley(SOX) experience a plus.Advanced Linux/HPUX Windows Operating System skills.Basic Networking skills.Advanced Networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP).Preferably 5-7+ years in the computer field.Knowledgeable in server hardware. Preferably with Hewlett Packard servers: standalone, rack mount and blade technologies a plus.
